For the most part I feel that I'm. The things that are most important to me, I have in my life. The goals that I set when I was younger that I wanted to do I've pretty much done them. I've had the privilege to able to be with the man that I love. And we have a wonderful little girl together. Now I've been able to start setting new goals for myself. Things that I hadn't really given much thought to before. I hope that with consistent effort I will be able to enjoy the journey of reaching these goals. I think for myself one thing I tend to do is rush. Just literally rush, rush, rush. I feel it's important for me to take some time and really try to enjoy what I'm doing. This can be hard for me because I like to see results and effectiveness right away. But that is not how everything works. So I feel I need to enjoy this journey that I will be on.

I have achieved most of my goals in life that I set when I was 18 years old. I wanted to buy a home, learn how to drive, get a car, have children and travel to different countries. I bought my cottage when I was 19 years old and I kept it until I was 33 years old. Then I had a modern terraced house for 5 years. Last year I moved to a semi detached bungalow. It took me years to learn how to drive and I finally passed my practical driving test in February of last year. I have got a five door blue car. I have traveled to more than 50 different countries. I was 20 to 21 years old when I traveled around world.

Thanks. I have been so lucky inn my life so far. My Great Aunt left enough money for me to buy my cottage in her will. I worked in London at that time and wanted to get a job in Dover. I ended up traveling around the world and letting my cottage out when I got made redundant. My favorite countries that I have traveled to are Samoa, Australia, New Zealand, Belize and the Seychelles. I hope that you will get to travel to some different places in the rest of your life.

I would definitely say that you have lived a wonderful, exciting life. Buying a cottage at such a young is such an achievement all in itself. And the many different places that you have traveled is absolutely amazing. I'm sure that you have so many wonderful memories of your travels. I've always thought that it would be nice to travel different places. To see new places, have new experiences, and meet new people, and of course experience a variety of wonderful foods.

Actually in this life you can't really get all you want. Why? Because each time we get what we want, another want would come. It is man's nature to be unsatisfied. He is always wanting for something new. So as for me I'd say I've gotten many things I want in my life but I would agree that I want many more and I have realized it is impossible to fully satisfy my human desire. However I've learned to just enjoy and be grateful for whatever things I got and accomplished. Contentment is the key to happiness. It is not in the abundance of things we got and accomplished but how do we enjoy and appreciate those things we got and achieved. So as for me I don't really mind if I have not really gotten all my wants because all the blessings I've gotten are more than what I truly deserved. So in this life's journey I have learned to be content in whatever state I am and have decided to live this temporary life to please first and foremost God before I please myself.

Yes I do agree with you that there are always new desires and things that we want to do. Which is because we were created with the desire to really live and enjoy our life to the fullest. God wants us to enjoy living that's why he's given all of us many things to enjoy and be thankful for. The variety of foods, seasons, animals, the wonderful senses we have, and many more were given to us so that we can enjoy our life. I feel the same in that it is important to put God first in my life before myself.

I think that I am getting what I want out of life. My husband is 66 and I am 46. We're both at the point where we want the quiet life. So we bought a house in Tennesse and we're blissfully happy. Now my parents and my daughter and son in law are working on moving down. So now I won't be happy by myself I'll have my family around me. My house is unfolding very nicely, as I'm slowly still unpacking things. I have already done my duty as a mother and raised a wonderful, caring daughter who is now starting her own life with her husband. And i've done my job as a provider when I worked in Maryland. I feel that this is my time to relax and enjoy the rest of my life with my husband. That's exactly what we're doing.

Yes I agree wholeheartedly that that is what you and your husband should be doing. Many people even when they reach retirement age still keep working. Some no doubt because they may have to financially, and others because they are just hard working people :). But I strongly feel when you have worked decades it is time to relax and enjoy life. Life goes by so fast, even as people reflect on the years that they have worked. So later years in life will go by fast as well so why not relax and enjoy it.

Life tends to be a rather interesting thing, as there are many times where we feel like that we are getting all we can out of life. Then there are other times where we feel like that no matter what, we are not getting all we want and need out of life. It tends to be a roller coaster ride for a lot of us, myself included, as we hang on and hopefully enjoy the ride. Right now, I am rather pleased with what I am getting out of life. At least for the moment. Still the fact that I am pleased for the moment, that is something that I consider to be the greatest victory imaginable. The journey can be something that can be enlightening to say the very least. We just got to enjoy the most that we can out of life. It can be quite the experience to say the least. So just hopefully life leads to something great.

I do agree that it can be a roller coaster ride. I do hope that my life continues to be something that I enjoy and that I'm proud of. I feel that when I come up short from reaching my goals it can be very discouraging. So as I try to reach out for new goals in life I really hope that I reach them and that with the obstacles I will encounter that I can overcome them.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me. I feel that it is important to get the things that we want out of life. It's not always easy because there are so many different directions that we can go in. I hope that things are going well for you and that you are doing the things you love.

Thanks so much. Yes I hope I reach my new goal as well. It makes me nervous thinking about it because I want everything to work out well. I've got to save so that I will be able to have the finances to take care of everything. I hope everything will fall into place as time goes by. I really hope that you are able to accomplish your goals. I think a big key with any goal is believing in yourself and not giving up. Some people may not think that we can accomplish certain things but if we ourselves keep a positive attitude it can go along way.

Yes, I think I do. I was able to finish my studies, married the man that I want to spend the rest of my life with, we have a cute baby boy and I have a stable job. Of course, as a normal human being, my desire in life is never ending. I still have other goals in life that I want to accomplish. Me and my husband right now is focusing on our son's welfare, we are trying to save as much money as we could and trying to be the best parents our son could have. We also want a house and lot from our hard work, to have a business, to have a big family car and to accomplish some future travel plans. We've got a long way to go but I know we can get there together.

That is really wonderful that you and your husband are working hard on this. It is a good thing when we have the support and encouragement we need from our spouse. Saving can be difficult and it seems like it takes forever especially when we don't have the resources we would like to. If you both work hard for the things you want you can reach them.

Thanks I'm working on it. I have recently realized that it's important not to count on others to make us happy. That we have to find happiness ourselves and enjoy our life. I'm glad that I've got this new outlook otherwise I think I would be very depressed and miss out on my life.
