I think most people download music from the internet. People only buy CD'S if they are huge fans of the band/singer, or if they want to support the band, or just because they don't know how to spend their money.
I rarelly buy CD's because I don't like all the music of the albums, I just like one or two of the songs, so I prefer downloading them or íf I really like them, I buy them in Itunes.
And that's what most people do (i'm my opinion).

yes,i think people like to download music than buy.as you said "i don't like all the music of the albums" i think it is also a big reason the people download music.they don't want to pay for that music which they do not like.
i buy only those cd's which touch to heart or those who's all songs are hit.

i never have money anymore to buy music sadly. i don't like to feel like i am doing something wrong in downloading music for free but i kinda have to because i am so broke. i do actually like to support artists that i really like, but i am no longer able to. however i love music so it's kinda hard to stay away from.

I download almost all of my music, sometimes illegally, but only if the band or artist condones the theft, which is rare; the music is completely out of print and unavailable in any format in which I can utilize; and finally, if I have owned a copy of the music at one time in my life and I would like to hear it again. I also download music from legally from reputable sites like iTunes and Amazon.com. I recently sold my vinyl collection of 5000 individual pieces and I have owned more than 1000 CDs at a few different periods of my life. I love the weight, feel, sound and artwork of vinyl records, but they take up a lot of room and are nearly impossible to move. CDs are okay, they sound fine to me, the artwork is intact and they are easy to store and move, but I don't see the point in owning or purchasing CDs in the world of digital downloads. Downloading and storing music is the future and I'm going to embrace that future happily.
