What is the meaning of a true friend ?

Hi mylotters,yesterday evening I had a heated argument with my best friend,and i felt very sad,then the question poped up in my mind,what is a true friend.Is it means who helps us everytime,gives his/hers company,support,care in every situation of our life.What do you think ? Do you feel the same way ? Please share your views with me.Thanks!

In my opinion, a true friend isn't someone you can always count on. It's someone who's always honest with you. They'll be there when you need them, if they can, but they'll always be honest.
Someone who's always there, no matter what, is a psychologist, not a friend.

Honest friends are what I'm looking for. Sad to say, they are rare to find and I can't find one.

For me a true friend is the one who is willing to help you no matter what. Tells you everything honestly even thing that is not good about but of course in private. The one who brings out the best and you and helps you to be a better person. The one who understands you and never leaves you behind especially in trouble.

i think its just normal for friends to have misunderstandings and arguments, but you'll always find ways to patch things up. i do have a best friend and we've been through lots of ups and down, but every problem we have, it only makes our friendship stronger.
