I like covering my face when I sleep. But I read in some text message that it's actually bad because it can damage out brain. I can hardly sleep when I don't have pillow on my face. How about you?

Covering your head while sleeping will not affect your brain function. That is a myth which I believe was started from a hoax e-mail that was going around. As long as you are taking in enough oxygen and not asphyxiating yourself with whatever is covering your head, you will be just fine.

Maybe you're right. I haven't tried to research about it first.

If I would cover my face I could not breath properly. I like flat pillow under my head not on my face. I don't think I could sleep with something on my face. My partner often cover his face by pillow and it drives me mad because the same moment he starts snoring :)

Hi angelbelle578, seems that it's really fortunate that I don't have such undesired sleeping habit huh I can't fall into sleep as well if the bedroom light is on. I always get the light switched off before going to bed. It doesn't matter that the dim sleeping light is on. Anyway I still enjoy to sleep with no light is on completely. There was times I covered my eyes with pillow or blanket when my roommate stayed up late with ceiling light on to do her online work when we had our few days in-service training in outstation. I couldn't stand for the glaring light and that was the only way to avoid it and let myself to fall asleep easily Happy posting

I do this alot of times. I mainly do it if it is light outside or if I am cold. I cannot do it if I am hot.

I do not have that habit. It is true that it's not good for the BRAIN as we need to breathe as easily as possible with good circulation to the BRAIN.

Each one of us have own different sleeping habits. For me, I like sleeping with blankets even if it not so cold. I just feel warm, loved and protected with blankets while sleeping. Ohh, I wish you have no enemies nearby who knows your sleeping habit -- sleeping with pillow on your face. He or she might suffocate you with your pillow and kill you..

When I was a child, I covered my head when I was sleeping. Since I would use a torch to read the books at night. In order not to be found, I would cover myself with the quilt. But I had to say that it was not so comfortable since it was hard to breath the fresh air. When I grow up, I will not cover my head any more as it is not healthy. I love China

I have to admit that it's not really something that I have a habit of doing. I feel more comfortable not covering my head. I don't think that I ever really covered my head while I was sleeping.

Yes! During the winter months I do this and it's very cozy! I find it easier to sleep when I do this and it's like forgetting everything in the outside world for a few hours. It can sometimes be difficult to breathe though and so I have to uncover myself for a short while and try again. It's very difficult during the summer months though as it is so warm. Everyone has their own way of entering the land of nod I guess. Andrew

No i dont cover my face at night. I guess i like to breath and not have myself covered with something. I know alot of people do this but i do sleep with the pillow between my legs and then two pillows one under my head and one that backs up to my headboard. If you cant sleep try taking an over the counter sleep medication to put you to sleep at night.

I don't know any damage that may caused by covering our face or head while sleeping. But,I've seen in the movie "Anna and the King" that people long time ago covers their head when sleeping. Anna from that movie wears a head dress or like a hat tied around her head when sleeping. So, I am not sure if covering our head may caused any damaged or could be harmful. have a good day jaiho®

When I sleep indoor in a regular bed. I lie on a madrass with a sheet cover. I have a quilted blanket covering my body. I put my head on a pillow. I do not cover my head. When I sleep outside or in a tent I sleep in a sleeping bag with a possibility to cxover my head like I wearing a hat. It all depends on where I am sleeping to keep myself warm.
