I had a hairline fracture that didn't swell much and didn't hurt that much either, but it was painful to walk on.
You need to get it checked out, go to the hospital to have it xrayed to find out if it's broken.
If it is and you continue to walk on it, you could injure it worse, and it will take longer to heal.

Sorry to hear of your painful foot. There could be a number of things wrong and an x-ray will reveal of the bone(s) is fractured or not. You could also have a torn ligament and or simply a sprain foot. It is best to consult a doctor because unless they examine it and or x-ray it there really is no way to confirm.
X-ray may not be enough and sometimes an ultrasound can be necessary to determine if the ligament is torn. I hope it is simply a sprain foot and or simply bruising. If it continues to swell then a visit to the doctor will be necessary. I would do as your trainer says with the icing and keep it elevated. If after three days it is not better then it would be best to visit your physician. Reason why I emphasize the physician is that a hair line fracture sometimes does not swell right away.

thanks for your advice but my foot is way better now than it was 2 days ago :D
i can walk on it "like "
normal except for a little pain . i think it was just a sprained foot
and i didn't go to the doctor because it didnt swell at all thats what made me a bit relieved cuz i kept searching the internet and found that it would swell if there is a torn ligament or a fraction or anything serious . and thank you for the great respond
