Hi fellow myLotters! I'm just wondering if there are products that could remove stretchmarks cause by pregnancy. I have stretchmarks on my sides and above my butt area and its dark. I've been using anti-stretchmarks lotion and seem its not working for me. Would you suggest any brand that will help lessen the appearance of stretchmarks? Its really gross. ;(

There is so little that can be done once stretch marks appear. But there are treatments that can minimize their appearance.
You can use chemical peels, but you need to consult with your dermatologist before you try any. A pretty high tolerance to pain is required, since there is a stinging sensation that comes with it.
Laser surgery is another option but is quite expensive and needs at least five to six sessions. It is most effective, when stretch marks are still reddish-purple.
You can try olive oil as it helps lighten marks on the skin. Try applying it over damp skin after a shower. Overtime it diminishes, but does not totally disappear.

Thanks for giving me different options my dear. I might try first the olive oil thing because laser surgery is far beyond my budget right now. About the chemical peels , I'm not a fan of it but still consult it with my doctor. Hope the olive oil will work for me so that I don't spend a lot. :)

My mom says it would just eventually lighten..but not really disappear unless you have it under laser surgery. I believe it was due to not hydrating that much when we were pregnant. I have also plenty and at first i did find them disgusting but know what? i learned to accept that it is part of going through motherhood and my hubby does not mind
Mine did lighten up my friend, i am not using any stretchmark lotion.. but a friend of mine told me NIVEA's product for stretchmark works wonders..but it is a bit expensive i believe but maybe you try it.

Thanks for your suggestion jazel. I will check NIVEA's products and maybe try it. As of today, I'm using baby lotion. I tried once the Palmers lotion but its very greasy after you applied it especially if you're sweating. Hope my stretchmarks would lighten up after I give birth. =) Thanks again!
