To raise a child is not an easy task. It takes a lot of patience, self control and plenty of love.:-) Our future lies on how we brought them up.if we have showered them with so much love, they will become lovable, understanding, tolerant. But if we shower them with ridicule, they will become the opposite of the above. How have you been as a parent?

It's very difficult to assess myself as a parent as my child is only 7 years old. I think i can judge myself once he becomes an adult and i can see how he handles things by himself. It is only then i can tell whether i have done what's best or not. It has always been a dream of mine to become the best mother there is in the world. I may not be able to compete with other moms but i'd sure love to know that i've been the best for my son.

I agree that the best evaluation of being a parent, is when people would say, what they have seen and experienced being with your children. But it is not the absolute basis as well because people has the tendency to be biased. Maybe one thing is when they know how to handle themselves properly even without your presence.:-) Happy parenting!:-)

Aaahhh janevi :P Am too young to be a parent!! In the words of my parents, I'm STILL the one being raised!! They have done a splendid job in their first attempt (since I'm the elder one) and I hope I've subconsciously gathered the skill required. I am partially responsible in the raising up of my 'not-so-little-anymore' sister and seeing that she is comfortable with me and talks easily, I hope I have. When I become a parent, I will definitely put in my best. Until then, I guess I'll just remember and keep revising these words: patience, self-control and PLENTY of love! ;)

Yes, plenty of love and so much of understanding is all that they need at a young age so that when they grow older, they will also share this love to people around them. Not necessarily you but those they come in contact with; their friends, their on families, their colleagues, co-workers, etc.

That is true, raising a child is not an easy task. But our heart will guide us through. We take care of our children but while doing it, we are molding them also to be a good future citizen of our country. We make sure that with this love also came too the discipline and values that we wanted to instill on them. It is a lifelong task which never ends and might as well guide them till we have our grandchildren.

Hi! I think I have been doing good as a parent. You are very right there. A lot of patience is needed that's why I keep my temper at close knit so I don't busrt out into flames. And how glad I am to be able to manage it. Ridicule can loose a child's confidence and self-esteem and they might not do well in school pr even with social groups. That is why parenting is one of the most crucial jobs in the world because we have to bring out a good human being for the society.
