What can you say about animal testing?

I have just finished watching the movie "The Rise of the Planet of the Apes". And I was reminded about animal testing. I am sorry for the animals because they have to go through certain tests on medical breakthroughs (that has always helped human beings) before it could reach us. It must be really painful for them. But what can we do? I guess that is reality and I guess there are no other ways but to test these animals before the medicines or products can reach our doorsteps and benefit from it.
And if not for these animals maybe the test would have to be done on human beings. It is a sad fact and I think we owe a lot to these animals that have to go through all these just to be sure that we are safe. Because they could really suffer a lot if the test fails and they have to go through with it over and over again until the desired results is achieved.
I am just curious as to what you can say about this.

I too watched the movie last week and could empathize with the plight of animals on whom products are tested before they can be declared safe for human use.Man being the superior being has always exploited animals and this cannot be helped as you have pointed out.I know some cosmetic companies like Oriflame do not test on animals.So I try to buy their products even though they are a bit expensive.From the movie I realized how much pain these poor animals have to go through and suffer silently.What do you think about the revolution of the apes that was shown?Do you think it can happen for real?

hi,myloter friend, you are a nice people with a soft heart and cares the animals.i have seen many news from TV or newspaper about the scientist do experiment by the white rat which is breeded by scientific test. the society is in progress and the scientist should think a better way to finish their idea.

I am very compassionate and it is my opinion that should not be doing so much with animal tests.
I know I would not like to kill many animals for these tests.
And do constantly test how many animals go just because of that.
However I am not against but care must be taken.

Hello nevavisima! I would also hope that our scientists who run these test are as compassionate as we are being careful to minimize repeated tests that could really hurt or harm these animals. Let us just hope that they don't fail many times so the animals are safe from getting hurt as much as possible. Have a nice day too.

This is sad that we use animals for our benefits. They have to undergo lot of pain while being tested by us.This really very shameful as GOD has created human beings the most intelligent animal not to disturb others but to help others.If we see from this perspective than human beings are wrong and they should not do it for their's sake.
On the contaray even this is also the fact that by these trials and experimentation only we develop medicines and treatments to save billions of people in the world.As we are the powerful creature on the earth and have the ability to fight with the natural disasters and help other creatures from it so if we do it to save human then its not wrong.

Yes, I do believe that very much too. But I also wonder what we will be like without all the medicines that we are benefiting now if not for these animals. I just hope that it would stop and scientists will find better ways of innovating medicines that does not require animal testing.
