Would you date a single dad?

Single dads are still a hot commodity in the dating market. They maybe annulled, divorced, separated or simply never marrying. If you will consider dating a single dad, are you ready to handle the situation and do you have tons of understanding not getting your guy's undivided attention? It isn't simple dating a single dad, but it shouldn't be so difficult either if you know how to deal with the sensitivities of such a relationship. The connection between daddy and child will always be sacred. As a girlfriend, are you ready to aknowledge the fact that your man has somebody equally important to him? We also have moral obligation to the children if your boyfriend's kids are still very young. So never sleep at your partner's house especially if the kid is there. We have to be careful to earn the respect of the child and actually keep him from any misconception. :)

Honestly, I'm not interested in dating someone who's committed to his children. At my age, I think I deserve someone better and a bit younger. Someone whose responsibilities aren't really that big. Of course! I would want to marry someone who can give his all to to our children. Aside from that, I don't think that his child (for example) will understand him if he chooses me over them. So I prefer not to. I don't wanted to be hated by anybody just for the sake of my happiness. I'm not of women marrying men who already have children. It's just that I'm still young.

Very well said elsmarie :) I agree with you that if you are still young you do have a lot of options. Enjoy life!

I honestly don't think that there's anything wrong with dating single dads. Sure, it might be difficult at times for the relationship, but it's really great to see dads getting involved with their kids lives. I think that, in this situation, I would just want to try and help him out with his kids and such. Try to be there for both him as well as his kids.

see nothing wrong in dating a single dad. i would even praise him for the relationship he was giving to his child. so many parents lose focus with their children. We should not judge someone just because he was a single parent. it doesn;t change who they are as a person or their worth to the world.
