I was just getting to have more free time to online and now the weather had changed. It seems like, my area is going to be hit with heavy rain and thunderstorm now. I think i need to leave Mylot until the thunderstorm is away. I don't want my internet connection being hit by the thunderstorm. Have you experiencing this sudden interruption recently? Hope to see you all later. Have a nice day...

Sorry to hear that the weather is not behaving by you. It is actually a nice day here today and no sign of rain. I guess we take turns around the world and sadly today in your part it is your bad day. We will see you when you get back and hope that you are all safe.

Hi myfb! I hope the weather there is fine now. I sometimes experience interruption in my internet connection but it's mostly because of the network's problem. Sometimes if there is a typhoon, internet will still be up.

Wow that's dangerous. I had a broadband before that uses antenna installed on top of our roof. During those times, I don't use the internet when there's a thunderstorm.

Yes, the internet is always fine although it is heavy rain with thunder. Only it is too risky to online while there is thunderstorm. Because there had been a few cases, where their modem and computer being hit by thunder and gone.

What I really enjoy doing when it rains is sleeping. I would like to just wrap myself up warm and just sleep. But that is not always the case all the time.

I guess that is what responsibility is all about. May be you should do what my friend does and that is they switch off the lights and that makes the child have to sleep.

Yup, same case here. The connection somehow becomes bad whenever it rains. So, what do you usually do when you're free and can't come online?

My kids are older now, so I don't have to read to them anymore. Sometimes we would watch a movie together or do some bible studies together.

I do unplug my laptop when there is heavy lightening, although it does not interrupt my connection. I had my other laptop damaged once during a snow storm that had thunder and lightening.

Hi, myfb2009. Well, this past Saturday, we had a thunderstorm at night. This seems to be only the time that we usually will have a thunderstorm anyway. I hope that you are okay now and that you were not so affected by the thunderstorm at all. Take care of yourself and stay safe!

Hi Cream, sometimes we do have thunderstorm at midnight that my son suddenly wake-up by its sound. It was very loud that makes my son very scared and run to my bed and sleep together with us on that night. Recently, here started to rain every evening. But luckily no thunderstorm accompanied it, or else i won't be able to online anymore.

The weather at my place is sunny at the moment, but some weeks ago there was heavy rain and thunder. We were on our way home when it started and when we reached our house we ran all the way to the door to get inside as soon as possible. The thunder storm lasted for a long time, and I didn't want to use the internet during that kind of weather, so I read my book instead. My husband and I were afraid that some of the water would end up in our basement, but fortuneately it didn't happen.

You are lucky that now the weather in your area is fine. As for my area here, it seems like every afternoon is raining. Only it is good that not everyday have thunderstorm, otherwise you won't see me in Mylot. It is good to hear your basement is free from water. Otherwise, how are you going to solve that problem.

We've been very lucky since we've lived in this house because in the three and a half years that we've owned the house, the electricity has only been knocked out once. When that happened, we were lucky because it was during the night and our electronics were not on. However, I do have everything hooked up through a surge strip and battery backup so I really don't worry about a storm hitting my connections.

That's very good that you had everything getting stand-by in case the storm is coming your way. At least, it won't cause any dangerous matter happening to your home and family.

Hi mybf: Og that's really sad. It has sometimes happened and I fee a little bit frustrated because I'd lose a special time that I dedicated to the site. I try to do another activity that would be important for me to avoid the feeling that I'm losing my time. Unfortunetly you can't control these situations. ALVARO

Yes, you are right. We can't control these kind of situations. What we can do is, try to online as much as we can while the weather is fine. When the weather is bad, we can do our other offline activity. So, we won't feel bored...

Yeah, I certainly understand you. The weather has been pretty disturbing these days. Just about every evening, heavy rain comes together wuth the thunderstorm. I turn off the TV and the computer too when the thunderstorm comes. I am afraid that the lightenings would hit the cable connectios. That can be very dangerous.

yes myfb, the internet connection is getting bad even if there is a cloudly environment. I dont know whether it is because of dampness made in the cable or anything else but you will definitly lose half of your bandwidth and if you are a usb modem user then you will lose the entire signal and that would be a disaster
@myfb2009 (8296)

Are you a broadband user? I think that's depend on the location where you are living. I always have problem receiving my signal when i am using broadband before. Because my home is far away from the station that is sending the signal to my broadband modem. After i switched to using fix cable line, my internet speed is never bad accept when there is maintenance.
