I absolutely love to read. I strongly feel that it is calming, and relaxing thing to do. A lot of time after watching tv i tend to feel anxious, I don't feel that way after reading a book. I also enjoy the fact that when I'm reading ( I like to read things that are educational or practical) i'm also learning. I go to the library often and always enjoy finding new books and setting new goals to work on. For me it is fun and enjoyable.

I love to read. I feel reading takes me out of my life and puts me into another one. When I feel stressed it is nice to be able and imagine a new world and life even if it is only for a coup,e hundred pages. I seem to read faster when I am stressed. But I love to read all kinds of things but mainly adventure stories!

I have seen the movie so I know the book has to be good. Every time I watch a movie that has a book out the book seems to be that much better so when you read it let me know how it is and maybe I'll give it a try as well. Happy reading!

Yeah I agree that reading does take us away from our life if even only for a couple of hours. And adventure books are great at doing that. Imagining all the different things about the area that the characters are in is awesome. I can read books pretty fast. Sometimes I have to slow down because I don't want the story to end.

I love reading books, This makes me learn some new things and go to places that I never been before. Reading is a stress reliever to me. When I have time to read I take the chance to do so. Ever since I learned to read I have been doing it. I don't read on the internet though because it's different when it comes to books. I have read plenty of novels. I love reading Clive Cussler books. I hope a new book of his would come out next month.

I agree reading on the internet is different. There isn't anything like a good solid book. I haven't heard of clive cussler books but I'm going to look into them now. It has caught my interest. Since you enjoy his books so much I hope one comes out soon for you to enjoy.

I looked up clive cussler books online he has so many of them! And there are a lot of series i guess i could call them. I don't know where to start. Which one would you recommend I start with? That is so awesome that he has been writing for so long and that he has been able to keep building on to his stories. I would run out of ideas. Thanks so much for sharing with me.

I really enjoy reading Domkinique. This reading habit was adopted since my childhood. I should thank my loving dad for cultivating such good habit from my young age. Yeah, I still remember that time my dad accompanied me to read local news with pictures attached to them. The attractive pictures aroused my great interest to explore more related to the stories. It's sure that children books like fairly tales, etc had become my leisure time favorite reading materials.
Reading matters would change from time to time depend on our age. And now romantic love stories as well as excited detective and science fictions are no longer my cup of tea. when getting older I have more interest in reading investment materials. I enjoy doing my reading slowly, calmly and relaxingly unlike those younger days I tended to finish reading them as fast as possible until stayed up late
Happy posting

Yeah Dominique25, I really appreciate my dad for leading me to the royal road of reading since I was very young. It's rather disappointed that nowadays the cost of living hikes up continuously. Price of books is not exceptional as well. I purchase less books at present and do more online reading on account of I couldn't bear the great expenses if I still buy books which I'm interested as crazy as before.

I'm sure that you are very thankful to your father for his caring attention and helping you to develop such a love for reading. I understand taking time out to read calmly. Most of the things we do in life is consistently rushed through. I know the need to take our time if only when reading books. Books are a great way to relax and is a good source of entertainment that isn't too costly.

I like reading, too. Because it can makes my mind relax and feel easy to sleep. Most of the time, i enjoy reading novel while listening to music. Besides that, i do enjoy reading magazines and books to widen my knowledge regarding certain topics. It is really interesting to read and i had taught my son to likes to read, too.

I think that it is relaxing to fall asleep to a good book. This way the cares of the day are outside and we can think about what we have read. If it's fiction we can reflect on the characters and their lives. If it's like a self-help book we can think of ways to apply what we are learning in our own life.

I love to read and here is my reason why. I have always loved reading ever since I was a eenager me and my sisters would always take turns reading each others books. I still read a lot to this day. It is like a hobby to me.I also set a goal for myself to see how many books I can read before the end of 2011 so far I am at 20.

That is awesome that you set such a goal. And wow you have read a lot of books this year. Reading is a good hobby. It is beneficial and it doesn't cost that much. I hope that you are able to continue to read a whole lot more books before the year is out.

I like to read books too, because there are some ones which, after reading them, give a sense of fullness. I like to read novels, biographies, history and more. Also I watch TV. I consider it a strong competence to reading. But, in my opinion, reading is an activity of more value.

I agree that reading is of more value than watching tv. When we read we are able to use our mind. Letting our mind read the written words, imagining the different places, people, and things in the book. I love to read and would prefer a good book over watching tv as well.

I adore reading and it was a skill that I had learned in childhood. I also got interested in reading when I was a child. In those days my mom worked as a reference librarian. I always find that going into a library or a book shop is a lovely experience for me. I like novels and non-fiction books about the topics that I am fascinated by. I find reading is informative and educational. Now I have a kindle I will be able to take loads of reading material on my next traveling experience. I love real books too and turning the pages I enjoy what I am reading. As well as Education I studied English Literature and it was fascinating.

I took like going into libraries and book shops. Book shops especially because I like ones that have coffee shops to. Then I can curl up with a good book and enjoy a cup of coffee. Reading is truly a wonderful thing to be able to do.

I understand that there are individuals who just can't get into reading. For some reading is a chore because they can't read well, aren't interested in reading, or never grew up reading. So I can see where you are coming from. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts with me.

A book is the only place where you can examine a plan to destroy the weak without, or you can explore a controversial idea without fear that you will explode in your face - one of the few refuges where a man's mind can get both provocation and privacy. I read because I like semi-contoured images in mind, read that and know that while they do, I can paint. Read to hear the mind, to see just the brain and to understand the soul.
I read because I like to be and that I do understand and like each other.
I read to develop reading because they love to read, and because I love words that give so many lined, beautiful and colorful forms and meanings.

I agree there are so many positive reasons to want to read and to enjoy it. Books really offer us a lot in the way of knowledge, understanding, and experience. We don't have to necessarily always experience wrong and bad things to know not to do something. The example and experiences of others in books can help us.

I remember what my college instructor told us before that reading a book is an adventure. Everytime we read books, we are taken into different worlds, dimensions, space, time, place, etc. We are able to learn the language and culture like we've been there in that place and time. It's like we're transported and I felt this many times now everytime I read a book.

that is a really good way of putting it. When we read a book it does do all these things and more for us. Reading is a very enjoyable activity. I look forward to having more time to read.

I read only when something that benefits me is there. For example, my examination. Other than that, I enjoy reading books about money making book. I don't know why, I just love to buy these kind of book and read it with full concentration but i never take action. Weird..

lol, it is cool to read books on money making. But it is weird :) that you don't act on it. But either i agree that at least you will have these ideas in your head if the opportunity ever presents it self to use them. Or perhaps you will make an opportunity to use them. I too enjoy reading things on how to make money I think we all generally would like to make more money.

Reading is my way of escaping reality. Whenever I feel stressed, I read. It takes my mind off things. At least for a while. I love that when reading, I can let my imagination run wild. I let it run too wild that I get disappointed whenever a movie version of a book I've read was not as great as I imagined it to be.

Reading is diffinitely away to unwind. There is so much stress that we feel from our lives. Reading allows us to be able to step away from it all. Yeah I wholeheartedly agree that when you read a book and then watch a movie you are more than likely to be disappointed. They often leave a lot out as well.

I agree I wholeheartedly enjoy the fact that reading certain books can help us with our problems. We all have different problems and situations we are facing. Being able to find a book that relates to it is an awesome thing. I'm always looking up books that I think will help me in some way improve my life.

Yes, I love to read too and read quite a lot. It is because it exercises the imagination and a story can be quite unique as you create the scenes inside your head. I read mostly non-fiction books though these days, mostly written by Zen practitioners that talk of their experiences with Zen meditation. As I practice myself, I can read about how other are dealing with their problems with the practtice of Zen. _Derek

Yeah it's amazing the feelings we can get from reading a good book. There are so many out there and just not a lot of time to read as much as we want. So when I do find a good book I'm so thrilled to sit down and read it. I will be glad when I'm able to get started on my next one. Life keeps us so busy, but we have to make time for ourselves.

I love to read! I rarely read educational/practical books for leisure though. Haven't been out of school long enough to miss them lol but I do read books about marketing and communication sometimes. I usually read up on educational stuff online. For leisure, I love to escape in a fantasy novel. I have this thing where I have to know what happens in the end. This gave me a pretty high crap tolerance. Haha. My friend and I made a sort of pact that one day, we will read the whole Ulysses book. We had it in literature class (we were aiming to be lit minors; she made it, I didn't) but we didn't tackle some chapters so we wanted to complete it.

That is cool what you and your friend did. I understand if you haven't been out of school very long how you wouldn't want to read that many educational books. After all you spent so much time studying and reading all kinds of educational material when you were in school. That would be difficult to have to know what happens at the end of a book. If I start reading a book I don't like, it's nearly impossible for me to keep reading it.

I enjoy reading both fiction and some non fiction. I enjoy reading magazines to find out about new things and to learn house hold tips etc. I also like to read books I have a few authors that I really enjoy and I always read their books when they come out. I also listen to audio books in the car frequently, that is not really reading but it is listening to stories.

The best part of reading for me is that I learn a lot of things. Also, I get to work out my brains to imagine and concentrate effectively through it. I also enjoy reading because it is one of the most easiest way to get into another individual's mind. Reading a lot about a certain well known man and his books will give you his insights and make you able to maneuver around what his mind is thinking. That's the beauty of reading.

I agree that we can learn a lot about the author and the way they think through their writings. It is amazing the depth of so many books. I often wonder how people are able to think up all that they do. There are so many details in writing a book. It gives me a great deal of respect for those who are able to write such great works.

It is good to read and glad you are a reader to. I like reading reference books most of the times. When I was in college I used to spend most of my vacant hours in the library as well and read just about anything or go to a nearby booksale and get some interesting books. I haven't been able to read much these days though since I have a child and the only one taking care of the and still has plenty f books to read. But do keep it up. It is so good for you.

I also understand not having much time to read as much as we like. I have a little girl and she keeps me very busy. So I'm not able to read as much as I would like to in regard to my personal interest books. But I do manage to read to her daily. I enjoy this time that we are able to read together and help her learn.
