You're talking about long journeys, so I am assuming that you mean going to places where it isn't possible for you to charge things like gadgets up. I have a Kindle (eBook) which lasts for 30 days on one charge so I would certainly take that with me. I would also take things like puzzle books, and a sketch pad and pencils so that I would be able to make drawings of the things that I saw while I was out wherever I was travelling. I am writing a book at the moment, so I would certainly take my notepad with me and a pen so that I can continue to write whenever I feel that I have the ideas to be able to go to.

Personally speaking, it depends on which means of transportation I choose. If I travel by plane or train, I usually read a book or just take a nap. I may also admire the scenery outside the window. If I travel with my families or friends by car, and I don't drive the car, I usually talk with the guy who drives the car in order to prevent him from feeling sleepy. Whatever way I take to kill the time, I always regard it as a memorable experience.

I suggest looking out of the window at the passing scenery. It might be interesting to get chatting to other travelers on the train, bus or ferry. On a plane it is worth reading the inflight magazine. It could be possible to chat to another next to your seat. I like to take a notebook and pen. Then I can do some writing lists of other places I hope to visit in my lifetime. If tired on a plane it is good to have a little time sleeping.

Its no big deal i would certainly pass my time sleeping, i can read books for only half an hour and soon will fall asleep, or sometimes i bother others near me, anyway having a mobile is a good idea while travelling for long trip you can message your friend for time pass.

I flew from the Philippines to the USA which was an 18 hour flight with layover. God! It was such a lonnggggg flight but good thing was, it was big plane and has big screen tv on it so it was not really that boring all the way. Plus, they keep feeding us like 6x which is good. I didnt have any gadgets with me so all I did was to watch movie, roam around the aircraft to keep my blood circulating or take a nap.
