2012 Prophecies and New Year's Resolutions

Recently some friends and I were discussing some of the more popular 2012 prophecies based on shows we watched on the History Channel, personal beliefs and so forth. I found it interesting that everyone had a different take on what they thought would occur in 2012. Not because I didn't expect people to have differing views but that I didn't really know the beliefs of some of my friends as well as I thought I did. A few thought the world would come to a sudden and violent end, others thought it would be a time of rebirth, some thought aliens would come to earth to help us, and yet a few others thought life would continue on as we know it. I am undecided. Because of that discussion I thought it would be interesting to see what you think 2012 has in store for us and if you are a person who makes New Year's resolutions, how will that affect your resolution?

If you watch Ancient Aliens on the same channel it documents several native american indian cultures that feel they have had visitations from other worlds. The mormons may have been visited by an off worlder. Any of these could come back to help us. It could be a time of rebirth. I like to think it is a more positive thing and not the end. I hope I am right.

Indeed! I would definitely try to be positive in this one.

in my view there is a 99.9% chance humans will be around past 2012 like every other year. it looks like it will definitely be a worse year for most people as far as finances are concerned. i think overall it will be a harder year in 2012 when compared to 2011 for sure. i don't agree with these bogus beliefs people have though. i think its all just hysteria based on rumors of what other people hear. there is suppose to be massive solar flares though which could mess with electrical grids and cause many homes to be without power for a short time. other then that i don't believe all the b.s.

I was a child of the atomic bomb, I lived in constant terror of tomorrow, next week or next month being the end of the world. I had nightmares and didn't sleep well until I learned that I had no control over any of that, I learned to trust my higher power to take care of me until my life was over and this allowed me to live the rest of my life without the worry over things I had no control over. 2012 will come and go as it is meant to be and for all I know my life may end later today or tomorrow. I am ready as all the rest of life is whether it knows it or not. Blessings

Thank you for your response. I appreciate you sharing your story. It gives perspective as to where you have been and how it has shaped your views now =) I couldn't agree with you more. Life is short and we should spend each day living it to its fullest without worrying what tomorrow will bring. Whether we want it to or not, tomorrow will always come. Thanks again!

I don't think this will affect any of my resolution. I would like to live my life as normal as possible in 2012, I don't want to think that the world will end on that year, I still have a 2 year old son and I want to see him grow up and become an adult. I still have a lot of things to do with my life and so many things to accomplish, my resolution stays the same - do your best everyday, failure is not an option!

Good for you! I do not make resolutions because I have historically not attempted to meet them but yours is great. I also have kids and the glass half full side of me tends to stay focused on my kids and their future, not the havoc that the future may hold. Thank you for your response!

2012 was a good movie and will likely be the choice for many during the coming year. Can't say I believe too much of what actually occurred in the movie but I did enjoy it nonetheless. Thanks for responding!
