A netbook in a sense is a smaller version of a laptop. It's about the size of a portable dvd player, really not much bigger then that. It doesn't have the space for a CD/DVD drive so when buying one you have to buy an external DVD/CD drive and plug it in via USB port. That's all you really need. And, you can usually buy one when buying your netbook. They're not that expencive mostly because of the high demand for Netbooks. But, in a lot of ways external isn't all that bad.

i think you didnt get my question. i wanted to buy a netbook which is cheap, because i surf a lot. Also my profession requires autocad. 3dmax is optional as i wanted it out of interest.
So my main use is to surf net and do some work in autocad and do some microsoft office files. i do not wish to waste my money to buy one which can do more than what i really required.
But thanks for sharing you ideas.

I was told that I would need to get an outer disk player and plug it in.That's all I was told.
