I don't think it cost something, because i have created another account in gmail yesterday and made it very quick, i just passed the verification text. It is free, and i think they just wanted to know if you really are a human and not a robot that is making many gmail accounts.

As long as I concern gmail verification text is free but if Gmail admin made some change on this issue, I don't know. The best way is looking on their FAQ'S to find your answer. Good luck.

Are you sure that costly? It mean Gmail is no longer free mail address. Please check again.

Gmail does not charge you personally to send you text messages. However, your phone provider may charge you a fee to send/receive text messages. In other words, if your phone doesn't have a text messaging plan, you will be charged by your provider, for the text. As I don't have Virgin Mobile, I don't know what text messaging packages they offer, or if it's unlimited. Call your phone provider if you're concerned about being charged for the text. Also, your phone provider usually has a website where you can get an online account, and you can see at-a-glance what you're being charged and where.

It really depends on your Service Provider if they charge you for this. I do this a lot on all my accounts - new and old, I never get charged for any of it. It would be best to contact your Service Provider to clear it out.

You will not pay for the verification text gmail. it is easy my friend, you enter your phone number and gmail will send a verification sms. . then you enter the code in gmail.
