Bill Clinton is! Of all people! He recently decided to just give up meat. He was a vegetarian but now he has given up eggs, all diary and other animal products! Clinton is now a vegan! He has lost weight and feels so much better! I still am in shock! Here was a guy who loved his fast food burgers! If it works for him great! I couldn't! I couldn't give up diary!

Onya Bill! That has got to be the best policy he has made so far! He's in no position now to enforce it on the rest of the country, but my guess is that people will be watching him closely from now on to see the effect it has on him. Those who are more educated & / or who have been in positions of power seem more likely to have read or been presented with some good information like this. Perhaps he has been meaning to go vegan for quite some time now & only now has he had the means to put it into practice. He is going to be one healthy dude if he sticks to it! I'm not going to place bets either way, because celebrities tend to swing into & out of vegan diets very frequently.
If people only knew what went into dairy products & how they were treated, they would never ever touch them again! Bill Clinton would have gotten to know more than many about exactly what went on regarding the entire process of "dairy production" - good on him for having the guts to put what he knows into practice.

I heard this started, slowly, when daughter Chelsea, asked him to lose weight for her wedding last year. I think it was 20 lbs. Then Bill switched over to be a vegetarian and finally a vegan. He says he is feeling great and I hope he continues this!

I am glad for the former president, he is feeling better and healthier now after he gave up some of his past fast food binge, at least he will stand a better chance to avoid heart surgery or obesity related illness, at least he is doing a favor for himself, and not worry about U.S this time. I am happy he is a vegan now, so he can live a long and happier life well into the future, hope he can continue to eat properly, and exercise regularly, he should be able to keep his weight off indefinitely.

I am glad he is feeling better! Bill Clinton has had some heart issues in the past and being a vegan will help him not go there again! I think he will stick with it! He just turned 65 and I think getting older helped in the change!

Those were the good old days . I liked the idea that my president eats burgers and he wasn't so thin. I Finally had a president I could relate to And would love to have dinner with . Now The dream is gone.

It is excellent news that Bill Clinton has changed from being vegetarian to being vegan. I find it interesting that he has lost weight and it is wonderful that he feels much more well that he normally does.
I became vegetarian at 4 years old and I gradually over a period of years became vegan. These days I am vegan and I am proud to be an animal lover. People that become vegan get better health and many animals are saved.
Cows milk is a drink vegetarians and meat eaters can drink. We vegans like to drink soya drink. There are other cruelty free drinks available like nut milks, rice milks and flavored soya drinks. There is a vegan margarine available and it tastes lovely. There are other choices to look and taste like dairy but they are really vegan. I have found a salad dressing that is vegan and it is delicious.

If being a vegan workes for you and Bill Clinton, great! I am never going to be one! Besides the milk and cheese I would have to give up most of the sweets I love! Not for me! I know of soya milk and seen it. I think it is gross looking and the same with tofu! No offensive but those things are not for me! Being a vegan is not for everyone!

I hear ya, Blue! I don't like soy products either. I steer clear of them. Too much of one thing is no good for us anyway. Beans & grains acidify the system too much, which isn't good. I like to get the whole bean, organic or bio-dynamic & sprout them. That gives you an extra 1000% protein boost & 300% vitamin & mineral boost over the old bean right there!
There are some real disgusting soy milk & tofu varieties out there & I've tried quite a few in my time, but there are some "better-tasting" ones in recent times especially & hopefully Maximax has found a good one she likes & can afford. Maximax has done a lot of traveling & can't always wait around for beans to sprout (the store-bought pre-sprouted's are often half-way to decomposing & can be full of bacteria, etc too), so soy milk might be the only real option for her at the present. Hope soy hasn't put you off of going vegan!

hi blue65packer why the surprise. All people can and do change
so he is just a person like any of u s only an ex president and
ex womanizer. S o he is vegan and supposedly will be super
healthy. I myself would starve as I have to have some sort of began diet as I need protein in my diet. I am a diabetic so I have to watch carbs and get enough protein to keep my blood gluc

Being a vegan sure is not for everyone! It would not work for you and other diabetics! My neice, who's a vegetarian, has thought of being a vegan. I think she could do it but I think right now she is happy as a vegatarian! I could give up meat and egge but not the dairy products! I love milk and cheese! I have seen soy milk and I am not going to drink it! Just looking at it makes me sick! I couldn't be a vegan!

I have no idea how people can become vegan. I can see how people become vegetarian! Some do eat eggs, fish and chicken from time to time. I probaly could be a vegaterian but not vegan! I would have to give up cheese and milk which I love! I would have to give up candy bars and othet stuff like that! I couldn't do it! It isn't for everyone!

Personally over all there is No way that I could go Vegan or Vegetarian even if it was for just a short time. Personally I enjoy my Meat, etc. Yes, most of the time I eat a lot of chicken and proteins, but I also Love my Dairy, Cheese, etc. so this type of lifestyle would not work for me. I guess in reality it is always what suits you the best.

Being a vegan is not for everyone! It can be done and Bill Clinton ,of all people, made the transtion. My neice, the vegetarian, has talked about being a vegan. I don't think she will! I know she loves her cheese and milk! Anyway it is now Bill Clinton's thing and I hope he sticks with it!

I don't have the discipline to even become a vegetarian much less a vegan! If Bill Clinton and other people can be a vegan, good for them! My oldest neice is a vegetarian and has had thought of becoming a vegan. I think for now she will stay a vegetarian!

oh it's nice to know that former pres. Bill Clinton is already a vegan, better that he is now healthier, good for him. I like to be vegan too, but I don't know when will I fulfill that, for the meantime I'll just eat more veggies and fruits until I get there.

I guess that's what happens when you get old enough to realize that you need to be healthy before its too late. I admire how he can get through with this, I coudn't image giving up dairy as well, meat I can avoid but Milk is a must for me.
