This is a very hard question to answer because of the burn being from so long ago. First i want to ask, did you receive any medical help for the burn? Silva dine ointment would have been best used right after the burn happened. If you have insurance the best thing to do would be to go to your doctor and get referred to a burn care center. They have a vest that they can place on your chest to help heal the scarred tissue. As for any over the counter or "home remedies" i'm really not sure what would be the best options for you. I have heard that lotions, patches or creams with silicone in it helps reduce redness of the scar. I hope this helps a little!

Hi snowtigger35, i applied silverex lotion on that day itself. But still the scar remained. Do you think olive oil is good? how about mederma? does it do as it say? i have been applying mederma for some days, still no visible change :(

I myself have not used the Mederma stuff so i really couldn't tell you if it works or not. As for oil i hear not to use that because it hold the burn in and doesn't allow for the skin to breath. Oil as well as butter, lard and anything such as that.

However, suppose that you first seek medical attention. Then you can use different types mehmeli cream. I've never come across such things and I know a lot. But the most important thing is not sinking. Even use and other famous folk recipes from grandparents. I wish you to quickly fix and a nice day!
