Of all the powerful weapons of destruction that man has invented, the most terrible – and the most cowardly – is the word.A word spoken cannot be taken back. Even the silent ones. The word is so powerful that one word can change a life or destroy the lives of millions of people.Every human is a magician, and we can either put a spell on someone with our word or we can release someone from a spell. We cast spells all the time with our opinions.Have you realized this lately? If yes, then in what situation?

Hi annierose,
It is said that 'words can make or break a person'. If we use words to praise and cheer up somebody who is feeling depressed with his life, that person may have the courage to stand up and revive what he has lost. Encouraging words can help somebody to be successful and achieve his dreams. On the other hand, sharp words that hurt is like a sharp sword that cuts deep. It will break a person's heart and may cause him to have low morale or low self-esteem. Hurting words can be a cause for somebody's downfall leading to depression, if this is thrown at him consistently and with no basis.
If we start since childhood, everyone is guilty of saying hurting words to another whether family or friend. Time change, we grow up, we grow old. Life is hectic nowadays. If ever we would cast a spell on somebody, i hope it would be for the good of that person. Enough of the put-down statements, more of the praise and cheers for somebody. Think of it this way, if all the people of the earth is under the spell of goodness, rightness and truth, what a better place this world will be.

it happens most of the time because we cannot control our emotion..In my life, I realized that is important to be a calm person and it takes a lot of discipline to be that kind of person. For so many times I hurt people because of my harsh words and I regret all those I had said. As of now, I am trying to be more careful and think before I speak.

Yes, definitely, words are powerful. You can just curse someone right in his face and you'll find out that words have a lot of influence, like actions. Here in the Philippines, we have a hero who used books to pass on lessons about our previous crooked government during the time of invasion.

Words are our toys. Juggle with them, throw them at each other, do tricks.
We answer the same form and later realize that they have different form and content. Continue playing in hopes that someday we will discover the secret of this game and we practice it successfully. We are looking for winners and losers, we believe that success brings us closer to what we want, we want to be winners of this game of words.
We realize sometimes that I throw out, even when I hit the target accurately and seemed to want no hidden corners, mysterious, maybe injured. We use words like some pre-rights, as some personal property, without thinking that they are ours, of all equally, and especially that we can all use. We sometimes missing entirely the responsibility of their disposal and we assume that we can get answers to match.
Why do not we realize that sometimes silence is the saving? Up to us to choose the right time to keep silent. How many arguments have arisen because of the words thrown elsewhere? But many remained unexpressed feelings because they have not found its way into words? Because words are our toys. But what may be expressed or not, there is a play. Cumpanici they are neither too many nor too few and to be spoken when you need them. So that only sometimes, silence is golden.

yes, i definitely agree on this. Word we say, they hurt people and the hurt can never go away. its always like that... it will always be like that no matter what.
for me, a similar experience.. i wanted to curse this person, tell her everything that she deserves... its all in my mind... i wanted my words to pierce her heart as much as i had mine pierced. but then you know, God's hand somehow covered my mouth... his touch kept me cool and just that.. i found it in my heart to forgive...
i felt better. it felt better than hurting someone...

Not only the spoken word but even the written word can shake up an entire nation.A word spoken in anger can generate so much negative energy that it can release a wave of hatred.A soothing word can bring peace to a troubled mind and a word can inspire millions and create a revolution.Yes the word is one of the most powerful creations of God and only the human being has it in his possession. With it he can rule the world or even bring about destruction.

I know one phrase that quote " raise your words not your voice" also we can judge the person by the choice of words that they use. What about the name of choices we use on the internet, some are using beautiful and creative words. Some we dont even want to go to their site if the names used are not favourable right?

We must be careful in choosing what words we say or express to other people because It will really affect other people feelings and impression to us.I like going out with people who think first before they say something and those people who had a good sense in any topic and I can learn something from them.

Words are weapons of destruction as well as an agent of peace and tranquility. I remember the time my country got divided under political influence that marked the beginning of the deathliest violence in the face of my country. The politician who came second in election that year only spoke of how he was robed off his rights of presidency, the complain was taken seriously by his supporters that they went on the street protesting. The other group that emerged victorious did not like this, in fact they went a head to declare their controversial victory on national radio and tv stations.
Damn! Things we saw were terrible from then, till the time the two leaders came together through negotiations.
...control your words, and you will be respected...
