Have you ever posted to a discussion to realize that your post number decreased. For those of is who have we know this means that one or more of our posts were deleted. It could have been something we said or it could have been to the discussion topic itself. Sometimes we do not know and that is what frusterates me. I think if our posts are going to be erased that mylot administrator should at least let us know what was erased and why it was erased. What do you think?

Amanda: Yes. we do get notifications for all our posts deleted. The number may come down by one or two and that will not affect us very much.
In my case it has always been that the post itself was deleted and hence my response was deleted. In the early days twice my responses alone was deleted because it was considered as canvassing. I just left it at that stage.

I never get notifications unless my whole discussion was deleted. I am referring to a post and I do not care much that it was deleted I am just. Puzzled as to which one was deleted it makes me start thinking thats all.

Do not be nervous nine times out of ten the whole discussion was deleted that's what makes you post go down cause you responded to a discussion that violated my lots terms.

I've never had a full discussion of mine deleted, but I have had a few replies removed when a discussion gets deleted. It used to frustrate me, but now it doesn't quite so much. My post count doesn't matter too much to me, so I don't let myself get bothered when it drops for whatever reason. Though I do agree it would be nice to know what terms were broken which lead to the discussion being deleted. It's not always very obvious.

That's what I was thinking! If MyLot let us know when we'd broken their terms and how we had, then we could avoid doing the same thing in the future. Although, with MyLot being as huge as it is in terms of members and new discussions every day, maybe it's just not possible for them to give specific details to people when their discussions get deleted.... :(

I can see if the post has a lot of comments it would take a while for them to let everyone know their stuff has been deleted. But I guess sme people get emails. I have never gotten one of these so that's where I guess I am uneducated about this topic.

I think if we were notified in our mylot messages here on the site about the information leading to the deletion it would help us all learn from it. It would help the people that got their discussion deleted to realize not to make discussions like that on those terms. But it would also help us posters because then it would clarify what discussions not to post to because they will be deleted. Like you said sometimes they are not obvious!

Mine dropped 10 yesterday but only 2 notifications arrived and I am still wondering which activity was deleted. Usuallyh the notifications are very speedy almost asoon as the post is removed but yesterday this was not the case and I have no idea what I lost then either

don't be frustration, that make us more better in create or response some discussion.
i think before we create some discussion or comment some discussion, we must read the faq's. if you still doesn't know why your discussion was removed by admin, you can send pm to GoAskAlice. read your mail on your yahoo acc ( or if you use gmail), and copyed the mail.

Copy and pasting all my post seem like a lot of work. I am much to lazy for that. Lol yes i am naturally curious I call it.

I guess you could copy your MyLot discussions (Print Screen is a quick option) and paste into a word document. You could recheck to see who's gone missing ...
Like you, I'm naturally nosey. It could be the post copied content from elsewhere, or offended someone. I never bother doing it as my discussions are never interesting enough to light a spark, let alone start a flame war.

Yes, Admins already giving notification when deleting our posts. And in several case, they are also giving the reason of deletion.
But, in case our posts deleted because the discussion it was under was deleted, they just say:
"Your answer has been deleted because the question it was under was deleted"
Personally, I don't satisfied with this one. Because sometimes I think it is a good discussion, why should they delete it? I would be more satisfied if Admin can also tell to us why that discussion being deleted

See I have never received any of these notifications and there has been discussions where I have posted that have been deleted. Maybe I need to see what email I signed up with, it would be easier if they just sent it to our website message box like they do with the tasks.

Really?
Maybe it is related to http://www.mylot.com/nr/editNotifications.aspx
Have you ticked them all?
Or maybe, the email notification was being sent through your spam folder. Have you checked the spam folder?
Anyway, I would agree with you if the notification is being send via myLot private message. It is easier and simpler to find out :D
But as this kind of feature isn't available yet, I hope you can get that notifications via email without any problem

I don't keep track of my post count but during New Years I made several comments that were deleted. It was the oddest thing because none of my comments were offensive at all. They were comments wishing people a Happy New Year and to be safe while out enjoying the festivities. I assumed they were deleted because a lot of people were making the same discussions. It was frustrating because I had to write all those people back.

You should get a notification at least. I know that when I do get posts deleted, I get my notifications on my inbox.
It helps to figure you out which types of discussions are more likely to get deleted.
Anyway, I hope you're feeling better now. And back into the posting-responding mood!

I was never out of the posting-responding mood I was just curious as to which post of mine was deleted. They do not send me anything into my message box unless it is a task acceptance. I changed my email so if something else gets deleted I will see if I get one then.

It happened to me few times. I posted to my friends discussions and after few hours the discussion was deleted so it means that I lost some earnings. Not much but every penny counts here. This is good idea if administrator would inform us why the discussion was deleted and why our earning was lost, because we did some job posting and we should be paid for this. I wish you nice day!

I do not receive them. I think it would be easier if they can leave me a message in mylot account in the messages like they do when we get accepted for a task. That would be easier for me.

No I have never experienced that but it does sound like it could be very frustrating and annoying but also you have to think it's not there duty to tell you why you got it erased you should read the guidelines throughly and the FAQ to find out what to do and what not to do when responding, commenting and even creating a disscusion but I guess it would make the process of learning from our mistakes easier if they did tell us what we did wrong in our post.
