My father often says that we should stare at sky because while we stare at sky, it makes our mind open-hearted and wide. Yes, i was starring at sky just today evening and it gave me immense pleasure. There were stars twinkling and clouds were in hurry to embrace them. The rain was about to come and i am lucky to say you that yes, its raining now here. What's an unforgettable scenery. Do you stare at sky from your balcony or terrace or yard? How often? your feelings please...... Have a nice time to you all.

hi shiby,
Sometimes when I am in a deep thought I like to stare at the sky
I found peace looking on it, I want to look at the stars because it seems they are so close and trying to talk and trying to find out about my feelings.
happy mylotting

Yes I am also fond of looking at the sky. It has a lot to tell actually so each morning I'd go up our rooftop terrace to gaze at sky and contemplate on the wonderful hands of God that made the heavens. The sky is a wonderful creation and it has a lot of other creations in it that makes it even more fascinating. The sky also tells what kind of weather is in store for the day.

Oh yes dear, you are right, that proverb is not just in your place but in our place as well and I believe it is a worldwide proverb. The weather is indeed like girls. As the weather is unpredictable so are girls. In fact there are days that weather makes me crazy. In the morning the sky is so bright and the sun shines as if darkness can't overcome it at all. You won't even think the fine weather will change at all. But in just 4 to 5 hours the sky will then turn dark and after some minutes the rain follows and it falls hard as if there is a storm. Then after an hour or two, the rain will stop and the sky turns bright again as the sun starts to spread its rays once more. So I am thankful there is a sky that tells if it is about to rain. When it starts getting dark then I should hurry up to get all the clothes in the clothesline so they don't get wet.
Yes indeed the weather is so fickle-minded and unpredictable just like girls. Ha!ha!ha!

Is it? i did not think that its a worldwide proverb, really. Well, the changes of weather happens only in summer... in winter, the changes comes seldom. Today, it was raining in the morning here.... which made me sleepy till 10am... later i was hurry for the class and after one hour its sunny and too hot.... Around 5pm, it was raining again and now its cloudy.
have you ever seen rain while its sunny....?
Have a nice time.

Hahaha...
weather.... but here is a proverb in my place.... the weather and girls of my province are hard to predict when it change.
say... it was a sunny day just 30 minutes ago and we all were sweating but now its wind blowing and the sky is covered with clouds and symptoms are there of rain.
Anyway, starring at sky give me an immense pleasure too. Have a nice time.

Yes, I do. I sometimes stare at the sky, appreciating the beauty of nature. How I love to see stars above me. Staring at the sky makes me think of many things like the things that I have done, my dreams, my family and my boyfriend. Sometimes, it leaves me teary..

Hi Shiby!
Always~ I always look up and starring at the sky and praise Him for creating the universe~ It is beautiful... the satellites shines from up there...plus with the stars- I can't differentiate any of them so I just assume they are all the same-shining things up there..When it come along with the moon, I feel so glad. They are matched to give a very pleasant scenery from up there.....I try to form and find constellation but I am not good at it so I just imagine the stars make a form of this and that thing...Do you see people faces up there????(^^)

Hi shibham!
Yes being outdoors and staring/gazing into the sky brings a lot solemn therapeutic moments for me. It allows me to think with an open mind and put all stress on hold for the moment. I can't really do so from our apartment but we do have a very nice park across the street that from time to time I truly enjoy going there and either walking around and or sitting on the grass to stare up into the sky.

Hi. I remember you starting some very good discusioms, when I was last on My lot about two years ago.
Your "stars' discussion took my interest.
My daughter studies astronomy as a past time. She has become very knowledgeable about it. She saved up a lot and first bought very good binoculars, then a telescope.
At my previous home, we often viewd the stars out the front, where we could see the southern cross. Sometimes we looked at stars out the back of our house from the lawn.
My daughter has collected posters, books and magazines about the stars. We even have a star calnder on the toilet wall. Plus, her laptop has rotating pictures of various stars on the main page.
Next year we are going to see the Solar Eclipse in November.

Nice suggestions. You know what, i think sometimes we just forget to stop and have a see to the sky, and grass, the tree, the flowers. We are busying doing jobs, earning money, try to live better life. But we forget what is really important to us, what is really beautiful in the world.
Thanks for your advice, we need to enjoy more beautiful things nature gives us.

I do know someone who makes the night sky her personal happy place. Yes, I do believe that looking at the sky, whether at night time or day time, can soothe and calm you down. There is something in it that relaxes humans. I think staring at the sky is a way to reconnect with nature. Reconnecting with nature brings about the feeling of belonging and can really give us piece of mind. I do often look at the night sky especially if there is a full moon and twinkling stars. Observing for meteors are also a nice thing to do.

Yes, there is something about the full moon, I think. I feel always under a spell during a full moon and I am really always eager to see one. I have read from a discussion before about some weird things that happen during a full moon. I really don't know about the explanation but I bet that there really is something about the full moon that seems to get into me. Just go on and watch the night sky. Reconnecting with nature is always a good thing.

What a nice topic that you started. I rarely stare at the sky nowadays. But when I am in our farm and having a slow day, I stare at the sky. It can be a warm feeling and clears my mind. it is just having an oujt of town trip and relaxation.

In 1983 i went to Oman for work and was there until 1987. The skies there were fantastic, unpolluted and clear.Even in the city,Muscat, despite the brigh street lights one could see stars in the sky.Since i was interested in astronomy i bought a 60mm refractor telescope and installed it in a friends quarters about 20 kms from the city.every Thursday night i, along with my friends would drive down to his place which was quite isolated from the lights and where the sky was simply amazing. From there we could see all the stars, planets, nebulae and galaxies, of course through the telescope. We even went deeper in the mountainous region on 14 April 1986 and saw the elusive Haleys comet which had approached very close to the Earth after 76 years and will now be seen only after another 76 years,ie in 2062,when i will no longer be in this world. After my return home in 1987 i brought my telescope along and was able to view the night sky from my house balcony and this i did for 2 years. However 2 years later the sky became polluted and i could not see a single star and so was forced to sell the telescope. The sky is now so bad and with so many high rise buildings around there is hardly any scope to see the night sky unless one leaves the city and goes somewhere in the interior, which is not possible. You are lucky to see the night sky from your house everyday.Yes, viewing the night sky brought immense peace and this is what made me turn Godwards.

When I was a kid, I used to stare at the sky because I find it very relaxing. I spare my time gazing at the clouds and the breathtaking horizon. I create images out of cute and puff like cumulus clouds. I even wonder if it is possible to ride on a cloud. Staring at the horizon makes me feel calm and peaceful, I would suggest to do it especially if you feel sad and alone. Thank God for creating a beautiful sky up above that relieves our stress and worries.

Every time I depress,I will look up and stare at sky . The sky is so large and it can contain everything . Then my mind open-hearted and wide. I become stronger.I would go on my work and optimistically deal with the matter.
And no matter when you stare at sky ,it is a good time to me and I very enjoy it .I also stare at sky and talk with myself sometimes. It is a way to learn about myself and I believe many people love the quite sky.
