My daughters and I have just recently relocated and we originally brought our family dog as we had a place where he was allowed. My landlord called me after a couple months and said that his ex was fighting him for the place I was in so I had to find a new place. Unfortunately, Mr Man couldn't come this time so i gave him to my sister for the time being. My daughters are awful sad and lonesome for her what is the best way to comfort them about the situation? I do feel very bad for them as I did love him to he's our puppy

It would be so sad to give up your puppy, even if only for awhile. Our pup is one year old and we are enjoying him so much. On the other hand, I was relieved to see that you were talking of your dog. I thought Mr. Man might be your hubbie. Lot's of women would be willing to turn their man over to a man-kennel.

First, let me say that I'm surprised your landlord could get away with that, it just doesn't seem right or fair. It's a shame you had to find yet another place, and that it wouldn't take your pup. Since your sister has him, about the only thing you can do is 'visiting rights' lol. You don't say how old your children are, so I'm assuming they're young. They may be sad, but eventually I'm sure they will probably get over it. If anything, it's a lesson in how life is not always fair. How about if you and your sister and the kids get together and take a picture of each child holding the puppy? Then they could have it in a little frame on their dresser to remember him by. These kinds of things are almost as hard on us adults as it is on the kids.

My daughters are 10 6 and 3 years old and yeah it isn't fair and i am sure that there is something that i could have done but my landlord was such a good guy to me that I couldnt see how it would be fair for him to get crapped on twice. My oldest daughter is actually taking it the hardest outta them all but my 6 year old was super attached. They do have pics of them with him so I could always get them developed and hope that this may help a bit. Ya i agree it's hard on us defiantely to have to watch our children go through life for sure

I'm sorry to hear that your puppy couldn't come with you. One good thing though, he's with your sister, so your kids can go and visit him when you like. In many situations, people have to surrender their pets to the animal shelters because places don't accept pets, or charge high fees for you to keep them with you. Maybe one day down the road, he can move back in with you and your family.
