Is reality tv overdone?

I definitely agree with you. Reality shows and game shows are really annoying to me. Tv is so filled with them that there's hardly any shows that are scripted. Maybe the one reality show I actually like is Jersey Shore, just because the people are so funny and outrageous. But most of the time I prefer to watch a show that doesn't involve reality because sometimes I don't want to watch reality since I live it everyday, I'd rather watch some made up show that I don't really have to think about.

Oh I would prefer a reality show over soap operas any day! But yeah I agree with you these days almost all of them are just pure crap! I was myself a big fan of them in the start when idea was fresh but now they all are scripted and fabricated. And yes Jersey Shore will top the list of worst over hyped reality shows!!

I used to like reality shows, but now I'm tired of them since they made reality shows about almost everything. I think the worst reality show is Armed and Famous. The basic idea behind the show was to train celebrities to become police officers in the Munice, Indiana Police Department. Upon graduation they were sent out on the job as an officer. The show only lasted for one season.

yes. tv is overdone...definately. i ask myself the same questions about what happened to good shows. even cartoons arent the same anymore. i think that all reality shows are just terrible and the farthest thing from reality lol

I have so many guilty pleasure reality tv shows lol. there's also some quality reality tv show's out there, like Pawn Stars on the history channel. My biggest guilty pleasure show of all time is Jerseylicious! It's so entertaining and I really love it, but I also love my quality tv like Mad Men. I have a good combination between quality and guilty pleasure that I watch. Jersey Shore is the trashiest tv show I've ever seen in my life, I hate that one and it's worse than garbage.

I think that so much of the media nowadays if converting to somewhat focusing more on the internet that the quality of television is slowly starting to die down as more and more people can view numerous amounts of information simply on their computer. If you really think about it, a lot of movies are running out of ideas also. They are all either based on books, remakes of films from other countries, or complete reboots of various series, like Spiderman and Superman. I don't really watch that much reality television; maybe because I am trying to avoid it? I don't really know. The definition for reality television fits a lot. I find myself watching t.v. only a few times a week for my weekly drama series shows, like House M.D.

I don't watch any of those reality shows. When the first one came out, it was more like a contest, and it was actually entertaining. I think though that a lot of the entertainment factor was simply because it was new, a novel idea, and different. After that one had people entertained, they just kept producing more, and more, and more. Personally, I'm sick of them. I can't pick which is the worst because in my opinion, they're all pretty bad lol. I'm with you, I'd rather watch Phineas & Ferb hahaha...because at least you know that's totally fake (and not real people faking reality.) The Kardashians? Nope...don't care (who are they and where did they come from anyways?!) Bachelor...nope the only thing different is that the hysteronics come from adults, and if I really wanted to see that kind of stuff I'd volunteer to chaperone at our high school prom lol. I now watch a lot of history channel and dvds.
