Why has Microsoft moved away from Windows XP I think the answer lies in that many people do not buy the originals and use the codes fake something else and after the success of the Windows 7 saw Microsoft it will work on new things to support modern software and games as the Windows 7 supports Dx 11 but Windows XP does not support this and has a Dx 9

Microsoft needs to market Windows 7, the reason they will stop supporting XP until 2014. Also, XP is not able to fully utilize power of most common hardware today. You can still use XP on the latest Intel or AMD processor, but then, it can only tap its full potential, unlike Windows 7. If Microsoft updates XP to fully utilize these new hardwares, then Microsoft might as well scrap Windows 7 and Windows 8 altogether. Cheer up my friend, XP will not be extinct until 2014.
