what will you do if your child was born with seriously bad health

My 2nd son was born with seriously bad health. He was too young to born (less than 7 months) And when he was born, doctors suggested we do not pay any money to save him is there is quite less hope to save him. And it will take a great deal of money for health problem in China. At that time, all people around us suggest that we should give up. We did not, we went with the kids from Guangzhou to Shanghai, half year later, I got a lovely and healthy boy. I know my son did not give up as although he suffered during that half year, he always laugh. What is your decision on this?
