I have an outdoor lamp, which is associated with normal cable with an outside outlet. The cable is located on the terrace and has been bitten by several times.

The best move in a cable channel if it can not move under the earth. What we have here in Mexico so do not go to it, the opossum is hellishly spicy chilli sauce with cable grease. Must be repeated frequently. Should also help ensure marten.

I recommend, even if it means effort, to lay the cable under the terrace. The lamp was supposed to be safely and durable. Alternatively you have the option of a cable channel, but this may not look really good on a terrace.

I traveled to a very rural island in Queensland, Australia. I did a walk for a couple of days there. I had been told how to save my food from the bush rats. I took a piece of rope, hung my food in a bag in the middle of it and then at each end has bottles. The bottles would spin round if a bush rat tried to get on it. The bush rats didn't manage to get my food. I suggest to try something similar to stop the racoons chewing the outdoor cable.

Maybe you could try putting sometype of animal repellent on it. Nothing that is very strong. Avon's skin soft oil is suppose to keep bugs and things like that away because of an ingredient that's in it. Perhaps the smell would keep the raccoon away. I hope that you are able to find something that works. That would be very bothersome.
