I have never cut my own hair because I am afraid to that I will mess it up. Whenever I have the money I go an get my hair cut, but lately that has been far and few between. The last time I had my hair cut was back in February and I had it cut because it needed it. I really did not like the cut and am now trying to get it to grow out. I have heard of people cutting their own hair whenever they are depressed. A friend of mine would cut hers everytime she broke up with her boyfriend.

I use to cut my hair by myself since 1983 - then was last time somebody else us a scissors on my hair.
Since then I make my own haircut, by myself I do not think I will ever allow somebody to do that.
And I have few friends who also cut their own hair. And I find no connection with being depressed or something. Pure and simple I do not need a barber shop for that.

When I broke up with my first boyfriend, I cut my hair short. Too short for me to regret it but that was back in 2004. Recently I just cut my bangs and it is a disaster. Now I need to go back to the salon for them to fix my hair.

i cut my hair only in the tips so that it will be straight. but then, most often i will go to the salon so that they can have it styled and so that my hair will have body. but then i always tie my hair so the thing is that they will not be able to appreciate the style that the salon made in my hair.

I tried to cut my hair once...BUT i had gum stuck in it. Ended up having a friend fix it but the gum was no longer in it.
I keep my hair short because its easier to keep care of. It doesnt get in my face or in the way when im working...i dont have to tie it back or use a ton of expensive hair products. I wouldnt say im depressed and that keeping my hair short is a sign of depression i'd say that the length of my hair is a personal preference.

I don't see why cutting one's own hair has anything to do with being depressed. Maybe that's just in the movies.
But being a guy, I could cut my own hair. I could just get an electric trimmer and cut it all the way through.
I think it's easier for guys!

No way am cutting my own hair it would surely look stupid, its better to go to barber and see to things that your hair is properly cut why making ugly for ourself, and i dont like the idea of shortnening my hair, its a part of me that i cut clean it off, it would look odd, am trying to grow more hair to make it a ponytail and other styles. nobody here cuts their own hair they do it in barber shop.

I have never cut my hair but that is because I do not trust myself. Before I got married I used to cut my hair whenever I was depressed, but now that I am married I cut my hair whenever it needs to be cut or whenever I can afford it which right now I cannot. I would love to get my hair cut, but with my husband not working because he is hurt it makes it hard to afford things.

I don't cut my hair when I'm depressed. I usually cut my hair because I don't like messing with it or taking awhole bunch of time to make it look nice. I like to be able to get up and go. I don't like having to mess around with my hair when there are countlesss other things that need to be done.

I do it, but I've got long curly hair so you can't see if it goes a bit wrong! Cutting long hair is easy though, I just put it up in a ponytail at the point of my head where all the hair is the same length. This makes it easy to trim the layers. I've seen haircuts being done like this on the internet, looks scary but I find it works pretty well!
