I think that would be disastrous. I think just a failure in one series should not be a reason for Dhoni to resign. I think he is good leader and has a fantastic record as a captain. I believe this defeat at the hands of the English team will only help him improve his leadership skills and enable him and the team to be successful in the near future.

The situation now is many failures. Many times seniors do a good job. But as days pass by seniors performance comes down on account of boredom. there should a change in leadership to give some interest to the players. also new directions, attempts will be seen.

rajeev: I agree with you. After getting so many failures in succession--it is time that Dhoni should resign his captainship. BCCI leaders should decide it quickly.

there is news of rift in team it is like fire in forest. Now as i see today's match which surely INDIA going to lost and they will be out of the series DHoni need to be replced. Team need to be get united and there is no need for Dictatorship of Dhoni in team. Why raina is playing since he never cross 10-12 runs in a match?????
Team will suffer if team is choose as personal favourites.

Sorry to say you that I don't agree with your opinion of Dhoni's resignation.Only one tournament is lost. Remember it's the first series loss after Dhoni became the captain. Even though India have lost the series shamelessly give some time to them as they are under the new coach. Always it take some time to get back into rhythm under the new guidance.

Well I don't think Dhoni should resign India doesn't have much options Sachin , Dravid , VVS are old probably don't want captaincy has well Zaheer hasn't got much years left in him
Realistically only Gambir or Maybe Shewag can take over the captaincy others aren't even guaranteed a test spot

Its not politics friend. Everyone has ups and down. All 11 eleven players who play in a match are responsible for overall performance.
A captain has some extra responsibilities but when no player is doing good what should captain do?
Its gone now. Let's forget it.
Better luck for india in ODI series...

Hi,
I think there is no need to resign his captaincy. He is the only captain for India, who take over two world championship trophies. My opinion is that he is not at all good in test matches as in one days and twenty20's. In test cricket he must have to hear the suggestion form the senior players like Sachin, Dravid and Laxman.

I think India should concentrate on building a strong Test team and may be a different captain for Test matches. These guys who are great at ODI are not suitable (temperamentally and technically) to the Test matches. Example: Yuvraj Singh. Even after all these years he still struggles in Test matches.
So team management should think hard on developing a team for future rather than just trying to over come current situation by patching a temporary solution.
Some of the guys just didn't apply themselves. Example: Raina, Dhoni.

You are right insted of finding a temporary solution INDIA must do a permanent fixit to have a better team think when no dravid no laxman and no sachin then what team will do in test cricket????
it matter of thinking
Yuvraj is completely out of question for test matches and so raina and dhoni
I think better to build seperate team for different formats.

I don't want dhoni to get remove but as a person it morally you must resgin in verge of loss as taking whole resposibility.
