I am asking for information about Gather

I know that some mylotters are on Gather. I am registered with them also and I have 59 points. I have been with Gather much longer than mylot but seldom go to the site. For some reason, I don't understand Gather and how it works.
What is Gather? Is it a discussion site similar to mylot. You get paid to post, is that correct?
Can any mylotters give me more information about Gather? Any suggestions or tips? How many points do you need to earn a reward? And what kind of rewards do you get?
Is Gather affiliated wuth BzzAgent? I have noticed that a lot of bzzagents are on Gather and I believe that is how I first heard about the site.
Notice that I am turning to mylot to ask information about Gather. In the past, I have posted on Gather but I do not believe that I ever got responses back. I really should be checking it out further.

Gather is a lot different from MyLot, and no, it is not associated with Bzzagent, but on Gather people post links and referrals a lot. Can be good or bad. You can get a $10 Pay Pal for 650 points. That is my favorite. Lots of other gift cards available. Great exchange of knowledge there, but basically must have a US bank account. You earn for others viewing your content. You earn for putting up content. Pictures and videos do well there. I am Heather E, who are you over there? Recipes are okay there. It is not as connected as MyLot in my opinion, but there are several that are on both sites. I really have no clue how to get great earnings there. I can manage about $10 per month.

I can see MyLot being more your style than Gather because of the quality requirements. I like them both, but will tend to be more heavily here. I know that if I start writing directly for pay more, I will be less at both of them, as you say, not a profitable use of time. I am afraid I am lazy at Gather and do not go to groups where I have to post quality content, because you earn for views and viewing, not for commenting. The biggest thing, though, is that Gather is great for photos and recipes and things like that. If you try to post recipes, forwarded e mails, games or polls on MyLot the admin will delete them. This is a discussion site. MyLot was very addictive to me when I first joined almost five years ago.

I believe that I originally heard about Gather from BzzAgent and I think that I got mypoints to join. But I could be wrong. It seems that a lot of bzzagents are on Gather. It is possible that Gather was a client of BzzAgent.
I have never quite understood Gather but I want to try to get back to it. I joined it when I was very new to technology and to work at home sites. I am more tech sophisticated now and am with many on line sites. And I might find that I am now more comfortable on Gather. I have been so busy with my work at home sites that I have not had the chance to get back to Gather.
I am bostonphil on Gather same as on mylot. I am bostonphil on almost all my work at home sites.
I love sites that give you money into Pay Pal. 650 points does not seem unreasonable. I already have 59 for doing very little.
Thanks for your info. You are always such a help.

The main problem with Gather, is that although they accept international members and you can earn Gather points, you can't convert them into cash or anything else at this time. When I joined this was not the case, so they have moved the goalposts.
If you live in the U.S it's not a problem, but there is no point for the rest of us, bothering with it when we have an excellent site like MyLot where we can chat away and earn real money, not points.
Having said that, Gather is a good site, the idea is similar to MyLot, but MyLot is better, in my opinion, it's bigger, it's been going for longer and it has a lot more features.

Thanks for your feedback. I, for some reason, just do not get Gather but I want to. I am going to try to explore it more and spend more time with it. Maybe, once I understand it more, I will like it better.
I have read some mylotters responses and comments. Many have been on Gather for a long period of time just like myself. But they also do not do much on it and do not go to the site very often. So I am in good company.

I think you may need to decide which site you prefer at some point, because to get the best out of them in earnings, if you are in the U.S that is, and in being properly involved with the discussions, is quite time consuming and it would be difficult to contribute to both sites at the same time. I hope you decide to stay here!

I prefer MyLot,as I feel more connected here, and I respect the rules and structure. I also have good friends on Gather as well. It seems most people, if they like Gather, do not like MyLot, and vice versa.

I have tried to understand Gather but can not. I have been with Gather a long time but do very little on it. I keep trying to go back to it and get more involved but I have very little success on it. And I continue to give up on it. Maybe, in time, you will have better luck and success than me.
