I graduated on my second degree - Nursing - last April 2011, reviewed after that until June and took the Exam last July 2-3 at Angeles City, Pampanga (Philippines).
After the second day of our exam, I doubted myself so much that I have convinced myself that I'm not gonna make it. It saddened me so much and affected my everything for days and weeks and then I got better eventually as the days passed.
My work online and taking care of my nephew when his parents are not around kept me busy. And I was fine then. However every time I think of how I did in my NLE it again depresses my being. At that moment I always turned to God, uttering whispered prayers to Him and asked Him to give me guidance and the strength to accept whatever His plans for me and of course I said that His will should be done.
And last August 21, 2011 the result was finally posted online. My phone was often buzzing just to see messages that my batch mates passed. Since I was on my way home I can't check the internet if my name was listed in the result. I was so anxious, if only I was not with my sister-in-law in the car I would have cried a river.
And then for the nth time my phone tick, a dear friend of my sent me a message. My nerves really got into when I touch the button to open the message, but I was so much relieved when I've read her message saying "Ate, congratulations you've made it!" I was so happy, euphoric indeed and I could have a heart attacked right there. I thanked God a million times and still uttering my silent prayers every hour of every day.
I just can't believe it. Yes, I doubted myself but I never doubted the will of God. Maybe He really wants me to serve Him through helping and caring for His people. And that is what will do. To God be the Glory.
To top it all, I have a twin sister and she passed the exam as well. I'm glad we made our parents and family proud, this is for them and foremost is dedicated to our Almighty Father.
Thank You God. You've given me more than I asked for and I love you so much for it. Truly prayers move mountains and He listens to us, gives what we needed even before we ask for it.

Hey, congratulations! This will really help to secure your future! I'm happy for you and wish the best in your nursing career! I have heard that things in the Philippines are a bit rough right now - especially job wise. I don't know how true that is. With that in mind, congrats! You have secured a good job and that is one of things that certainly led to less stress in life.

Thank you Awinds, and yes you heard it right, there are very limited of work here in our country for nurses due to the enormous supply of new nurses every year compared to its demand. The competition is very rough and opportunities are hard to come by. Some nurses don't practice their profession because of this.
But I'm really thankful that I have surpassed the examination and I'm already a full pledge nurse. Maybe after completing some work experience here I'll try my luck in another country so I could provide for my family and save something for my own use in the future.
My method for now would be to work hard, care more and aim high.

Oh that was so sweet Hatley. Thank You.
Yes we did make our Dad proud, and I'm sure we will make mom proud as well if she's still with us. They're one of our biggest inspiration, our mom surely watches over me and my twin during the course of our review and when we took our exam and I'm glad we've make it.
God really love us both and He never fails to shower us His blessings and grant us the longing of our hearts.
And with this wonderful blessings we will definitely share it with everyone especially the most unfortunate people of God by rendering our service to them with care and compassion.
Aiming to be the best so I could give my best to those who needed me.

Thanks mspitot. Super delayed response but I really do appreciate your greetings.
It is indeed hard to do a nurse's job but with passion, commitment and hard work I think I should be fine and i'll enjoy doing whatever lies ahead with my chosen career.
Yes, I will definitely serve our country first but still I have plans on embarking to places I couldn't call my land in order to help my family, cause that is one of the reason why I took up nursing besides the fact that I really do care for other people and that I couldn't think of any job that would best suits my liking and personality.
Thanks again and have a nice day.

Thanks much nurse clare.
Indeed a great feeling to pass the exam cause it was not easy at all especially our batch is the last batch under the Board of Nursing who are seated as of the moment. They say that the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination is the hardest when it is given during the first and the last year of the Board of Nursing members. Our president would appoint a new set of BON members that will produce the next set of exam. I was so anxious when I heard this bit of information. But lucky me my nerves did not fail me.
Thank you that you also felt my happiness as I'm sure we share the same when you passed yours. I just hope I could get a great experience and get a better job in the future.

Truly passing PNLE is a great feeling. My cousin sister is in Philippine and she use to fear a lot on getting it passed, she use to tell me thats her dream and its not a easy one though. When she passed she was jumping and rejoicing. So I can really feel how happy this victory could be!

Congratz! You are now a licensed nurse and welcome to the bum life. That's what they usually call it. I am also a licensed nurse since last January, I took the exam last Dec 2010 and up until now I still don't have any job that is related with our course. I hope I didn't discourage you, but hey! If you really want to pursue our career, Why don't you try as a volunteer first or better yet if you know somebody in the hospital, you might be given a chance to become a staff.
I know the feeling after you see your name listed and passed the exam, I was shouting inside the house and my phone is ringing every minute because people is calling just to greet me. It was one of the happiest day of my life. =)

Thanks, oh no don't worry you didn't discourage me at all. I know our situation in our country is very rough, I have known it long before I decided to take up nursing, but I still believe that there's a lot of opportunities out there, we just have to look harder and work harder.
If you truly have the passion no one can stop you achieving the goal that you set for yourself.

Thanks Katrina. I'm still thinking and planning out what I wanted to do next, but most probably it would be towards having a lot of experience first so I could apply for a better job in the future. I also wanted to pursue graduate course but that is still on my waiting list once I already have established a stable career in nursing. I value education and I won't stop to reach for higher grounds in learning till the day I die.

Congratulations! I know how you feel right now. same as I felt last November 2008 when I passed the licensure examination for teachers. Well it is really an unexplainable feeling. :-P
I can still remember how happy my parents that day. My mom needs to drink her medicine for high blood while we are browsing the newspaper containing the list of examinees who passed the said exam. finally when they saw my name I can't help but to cry. I didn't took a review class that time because I am already working so I really didn't expect that I will pass the board exam you are right. God is really good! Congratulations again! and good-luck!

Thank you eynjel.
My blood pressure shoot up as well due to an overwhelming anxiety, but it subsided right before I got the text from one of my dear friend. I'm still overwhelmed though with happiness, joy and excitement.
We are very blessed.
I hope I could find a job sooner as well.

Yes indeed she is a good friend. We were together in so many battles. From the sleepless sessions when we do our school work to the grueling review days for our exam and most especially the nerve-wracking exam itself. I'm just so happy that we made it.
Thanks.
