I'm a new user for mylot, and I started 2 discussions, one day passed, 0 response. So I really want to know how to start a good discussion, I found this is a good place to study English, I need to communicate with others. Please reply me. Thank you...

There are no real standard rules as to what makes for a good discussion or not. Sometimes it really depends on timing as to when members are online at the moment we do start discussions. I can tell you what the top poster, Mrs. Hatley told me when I first joined myLot a year ago. She said to me that I should respond to other discussions more often with quality, useful and helpful information. She said many of the members would remember me more with time and as soon as they saw my topics on the boards that would get many to eagerly respond. This was told to her when she was new too and both of us as many here get loads and loads of responses in our topics. Although we do not start many discussions, what we do is that when we do we dedicate our time to it. Meaning that we always assure to comment back to the responders so that way they will remember that we are definitely reading the responses as we acknowledge that in our comments. I would suggest the same for you as well, that you also respond to the others discussions a bit more and also upload some type of avatar to your user Id as this will also be an easier way for some to remember you as well. I would suggest you also add some friends to your friend list, but do so slowly as you would want to add friends who perhaps have the same interests. Adding random members, firstly does not earn for adding them, secondly that they may not be able to respond to your interests and then you may feel a bit ignored. Good luck and welcome aboard!

Don't worry. There will be responses. MyLot is a huge community with members from countries around the world, with different interests, cultural background, and professional background. There will be people who have similar interest, and will participate in the topics that you choose. Happy myLotting !

I have many many posts that were completely ignored. Some of them were actually really good. One I had spent a long time writing and 0 responces (can't remember which) what helps a lot is the title of your discussion. Does it sound like a simple yes or no questions (might get you responces might not get you too many points.) is it poorly writen, boring, or really confusing? (Sometimes poorly written works) the title says a lot about your post. Also don't make your descriptions too short (or you may get very few points, some don't get any)and don't make it a novel. A short paragragh or two is probably good. So make a good title and a good length discription and you should be fine. Also responding to others can work out as people may look at your profile and see more posts. Sorry for writing a novel. Thanks for reading and good luck.

Friend your discussion is good but if you wants to more response then first you should make lots of friends. I have seen your profile you have only 3 friends you should send friend request to more mylotters then you will receive more responses. Dont worry go ahead I am with you.
