This story is so hudge, I'm finding out even by only reading wikipedia, for example I seached yesterday for Elrond, the Elf Lord and a whole new world opens up and I see how big the world created by Tolkien is. They have their own folklore, customs, story, it's so amazing. The dwarves, the hobbits and men they are all so different and I really get the feeling it's a real world, you never get bored!

Haven't you seen the its 3 movies? They were so beautiful, that you would think there's really a place and a war like that before.
But you will appreciate and understand the stories very much , if you will also read the 3 books. I first watched the first movie, Lord of The rings then read the 3 books. By the time the 2 other movies were shown, i already know the backgrounder and the story.
So, watching them was really nice!

I've seem and I'm reading the books. The bad part is that now I know how Peter Jackson messed with the movies, the book is better. The good side of it all is that I get to enjoy the best later, the movies were good for the soundtrack, Viggo and Elijah's flawless acting, but the book...Tolkien is a genious!
I don't know how could someone think they could rewrite Tolkien, that's what they did.

I agree , Tolkien is really a genius. Imagine creating a Hobbit Land filled with nice descriptions of the place. When i was reading it, i am so enthralled of the descriptions of hobbit land as well as the places where Frodo get to go.

Tolkien spent his whole life building the history and mythology of Middle Earth. There are loads of other books that have been published that were set in the same universe that are all basically world-building. I've read all the books, and I'm going to re-read them again someday soon. I love them so much! They're just one of the greatest works of literature ever imagined, and one of my personal favorites.

Hi katie: I must admit that I am not as big fan as you are. I have only read the Lord of the rings 4 times and I only have watched the films 2 times. But I agree with you, the book is fantastic and the films are precious. It has a very good story. It's emotional but it has an excellent plot and you can feel touched by the characters.

This is the best movie ever created. The book itself is fun to read, yes you will never get bored. The Lord of the Rings story is so complex yet you will be eager to learn more about it. I love the movie, it is really great specially Legolas.

One of the best movie I have seen, The first part of the movie was given to me by my friend and after seeing it I became so eager to see the rest of the part and went to the store and purchased a new dvd collection of the movie. It is a huge box office hit movie because of the storyline and graphical improvements.

It is an amazing tale and as you know, more than just the LOTR books or the Hobbit tale. It is a complete history of a fictional world that is based loosely on Nordic and English history. Tolkien's mind was amazing. His history is so convincing that it does feel real and you can easily fall into that world feeling like you are part of it.
