Ok there are some men you see in the store they are going grocery shopping but most men are like I don't want to go grocery shopping I will stay home. Why is that why men don't want to go grocery shopping its not that bad I mean really you get the thrill of seeing the food go actually into the basket instead of waiting until your wife gets home to say what you get? LOL, I mean don't you want to be like a kid in the candy store oooh I want I want LOL, I don't know I think grocery shopping is alot of fun though, but seriously men women could use your help because putting those bags in the car is no joke the for saftey reason look at how many times women turn their back to put groceries in the car I mean women need to be more protected now because this world is a scary place to live now, and then yall could be the grocery lists since yall eat the majority of the food anyway you could tell us what we are missing LOL, you know make it fun, I mean race the carts down the isle or something, lol... But my question again I say why some men don't like grocery shopping?

I don't think it is true to all men. My husband for example likes grocery shopping. In fact during ordinary days, he is the one who does this job whenever he sees we run out of some grocery items. I don't even ask him to do that but he does. Now if there are men who don't like grocery shopping those are men who don't have much patience and believe that grocery shopping is a woman's job. I'm glad my husband is not.

Well that is a good husband i know that it helps you out a lot because sometimes us as women tend to forget the things that we need as well.

May be the men folks find getting grocery items is a boring stuff. I also have seen many of them just stand outside the retail mart taking care of the little kid/s while the women do all the shopping. Another reason they may feel that we do get things that are not necessary. Also they feel if they join we may spent more.

Yeah I guess that you are right I guess that some men are right now shoppers they get what they need right now and don't worrie about tomorrow until later.

Also they might feel all the items are not required to cook daily at home in one go as generally the grocery shopping is done either monthly or fortnightly.

I actually enjoy it. I prefer not to spend money on useless foods and pick stuff that is good for you. My wife likes sugar cereals and fast setup foods which are unhealthy. We have two kids and I wasn't raised that way.

Hello Dear Walking! I am sorry, I can't throw any light on this matter, as I am a man and genuinely interested in Grocery shopping! I find it interesting to see new products coming into the market now and then! I definitely would like to try these products out of curiosity and health reasons!!!! Now a days many good companies are entering into the food business and they are coming up with some good products, so i always prefer to try these products! I like to have some different types of spices for a change so I make it a point to try some new spices every time I go for grocery shopping! We have selected Malls or departmental stores where we pay our visit on regular basis so we know about the products and their location which makes every thing easier for me! My wife finds it confusing many a times to find a particular product, at that time I immediately get her the required product within no time!!! Just loading the prepacked grocery into the trolleys and taking them to the counter shouldn't be a big problem for any man! On the contrary I enjoy this act of shopping! Thanks !!!!

It's more complicated than what you imagine. Men go shopping, doing it quickly and efficiently. We know what is wanted. We don't hang around the stores looking at everything and getting in other people's way. But when a man has to go with a women, yes we get bored. Women can't make up their minds what to buy. They ask our opinion and then immediately ignore it! We are left hanging around like a dog on a lead!

I mean ok but when women shop we shop for the next day and the day after we have to think about the now and the later thats all..

i often wondered that! i like to think it's because when men go grocery shopping.. all they see is things they have to do.. for example, onions.. they see a bag of onions and they think, oh no my wife cries when she cuts the,, she'll make me do it! or they buy some washing up liquid and think, thats me on dishes duty now we have that, no more switching the dishwasher on all the time haha!

I found this funny. No that isn't always the case, but yet I have always been the better cook. My wife is content with hot pockets every night.

oh i know!! men like to try on every single pair of shoes.. and walk about the shop with them on.. what is THAT all about? haha!

I think it is because it is set in their minds that it is the wife's duty to do grocery shopping and that their responsibility is to work for a living. Besides, maybe men thinks that it is better that the wives do it since they are more familiar with the kitchen necessities especially all that is needed for cooking. Very seldom can hubby go to do grocery work, but he comes home with this big gallon of oil and all the big packages and hardly all the other important grocery items are bought. Haha. He just doesn't know how.

LOl I guess as for some that trips me out when some people think that we are still in the 50's but then they want to nit pick and say no we are not in the 50's on certain things. Sometime it would be nice for the man to go though.

They just don't want to cause they don't have to. OR that it is expected of the woman to do the "woman's work" and grocery shopping is "woman's work". I don't enjoy it but never minded doing it. I do coupons and such. But while back, my husband decided that my cooking was horrible. (after 30 years of marriage.) Truth is...I just cook pretty good and he thinks he cooks better and doesn't want to admit that I am good at anything, muchless something he thinks he is great at. (he tosses a piece of meat on the grill...nukes a potato, opens a can of corn and a bag of lettuce and he's a great cook!) But....since he decided my cooking is bad, he goes to the grocery to buy what he wants. HEy, works for me. I don't have to cook anymore, get to eat out often and not do dishes and clean the mess and helps me alot in watching my weight cause I can eat half of the meal at the resturant, take the other half home and have a second meal...no snacks! WOrks great. I have even gone to the grocery a few times lately...and he complained about all I bought and has started going again. Now his complaint is that he refuses to eat hamburger meat. I used it alot (80%/20&) to make all kinds of things in the past 30 years and everyone loves the stuff (my grand duaghter love my burittos and tacos ..they call them Nanny Burittos and Nanny Tacos and tell whoever is feeding them..."these are not as good as Nanny's" and then won't eat the "other" ones!) I'm a good cook...he just likes to complain. So he bought the 90%/10% meat...tasteless and dry as can be...and he even admitted it was like that and I said that is why I use the 80/20....immediately after that...he don't eat hamburger meat anymore! Go figure. Men are men. They are missing out if they dont' want to go grocery shopping as there is so much out there....

Well, I do buy some groceries depending on the need. Practically there are those that are really not familiar on what to buy when it comes to groceries considering that its usually the wife that is more familiar on what to buy when it comes to things needed in the kitchen. So most often, it would be a difficult job for most men especially if they are more of office work.

i am lucky because my husband likes doing the grocery shopping with me. He gets to choose the brands he likes and some extra items he wants. Well, it's fine with me , as long as he is paying.

simply because it may take too much time for such an "unnecessary" action .... men like electronic items, cars, all sort of things like that. and for that they would waste much time....

hi:) hehe before my mother always complain about that to my father,so what she did was when my father is not with us when we go to grocery she intentionally forget the things that need to be bought for my father, so when my father noticed what my mother was doing he ask her and my mother told him that if he wont come with us to grocery he needs to buy everything he needed alone. hehe somehow effective because now my father always go with us to grocery shopping but we only do it every Sunday after going to church.

it gives them a chance to be home alone and rest while the wife does all the work and goes to the store im guessing :) or maybe because if the wife is willing todo it, why waste your energy and do it lol.
