I'm curious how many bloggers blog for fun; not for anything else. I suppose just a few now since most of the bloggers I know make blogs to make money out of it. And there's absolutely noting wrong with that. That's what we are here for anyway, right? But just the way, do you blog for fun or for profit?

I discovered blogging because I'm looking for ways to earn online. So that is the reason why I started a blog. But I didn't update it and I'm not blogging anymore. When I have time I want to make a blog about my passion so that I will not get tired of posting and updating my blog.

What was your blog all about vycess? I guess that's one if the reasons of a site's success- passion. If you really love what you're doing it would be so easy to continue doing it over and over.

i too got started on it initially when i learned that i could make earn some money at least from blogs. but while doing it, i found that making money online is not really my thing as i'm just too lazy. even my blog is not updated regularly. but i did find something that i would be interested in writing about from time to time, even if the time gap was quite long. so long as i wasn't forced into writing it, and i wrote of my own volition, that was it. so now i'm writing more for fun than profit, as i don't have any traffic at all since my topics are all 'niche', as in it's not general but more specific and not many people have similar interests.

well i write on blogger and hubpages but not really that often. i'm not experienced and also, it takes me too long to get used to new sites. also, i'd rather just have these two writing platforms rather than a lot just to earn money and to forget about some sooner or later.

I don't have a blog right now. I just never got around to starting one. If I did do one it would be for profit. I am sure it would be fun too, but I pretty much don't do anything on line that won't get me some money. So for sure I would find some way to make a profit or some money on my blog if I had one. Nice to see you over here on mylot too.

Yeah, having fun blogging should be a main priority. If people don't enjoy blogging, but are doing it for the money, they won't get anywhere. But if they actually enjoy blogging and do it for money as well, then they'll be able to make money more easily. It's all about what you like to do, and if you like doing it, that's great, and if you can get paid for it, that's even better! Happy mylotting (and blogging)!

Hi ladym! Finally, we meet here!hihihi... I've started a blog recently with blogger. It doesn't have much yet but yeah! if I can make money out of it, I'll definitely like that. But that shouldn't be my first priority. I should enjoy posting and sharing ideas there first so I don't lose my way. (I wish!)

I pretty much blog for the fun of it. Well basically because the things I blog are the thing I like. When I'm blogging, it's like things are much clearer, I could just stay on my computer and update my blog. It is a stress reliever for me. The profit that I get from my blog is just a plus, the joy comes when I log-in to my Facebook account and someone would PM me just to say "Idol! Keep up the good work!". That's more than enough for me.

I blog for fun and for money. I started out with blogging because he told me that there is money to it. So, I started it out. I have to admit that the very reason why I started blogging was to get my share of money online. From there, I found that blogging is also fun. So and so that I made blogs for my activities, my hobbies and for my work. Its really great, its fun and on the sideline, I earn from it.

All of my friends blog for fun. Blogging is a new "thing" in the new generation, and people seem to be all over it. I guess for them, it's a more "in-depth" twitter and facebook, where they can share new things about their life, but with more detail. I never actually got the hang of blogging. I tried blogging for money once, and it never really worked out. I just couldn't get myself to spend so much time and effort each day to write a few sentences :P Writing isn't my thing, and doing it for fun just seems worse. I would have done it for money, but you need a well-functioning blog to actually make some money, and I wasn't going to blog for six months just so I could start being paid after that. Just too much work, unlike Mylot, which is more laid back. Happy mylotting!

Mylot is different, yes. Here, we talk about anything under the sun and don't worry of where to get traffic. In blogging though and we're in for it for money, we think about topics, write about them, and get traffic (loads of them). It's a lot of work!

I blogged for the sake of earning money before. Its no fun, in the end I lost interest in doing it because doing something you don't enjoy is useless. I eventually lost track and I became off topic, hehe...as expected of me. I tend to think so random any time, every time. Yeah its like now I am thinking of make-ups and then after a second I think of Mario Maurer...yep, that kind of randomness. Now Im thinking of making a personal/make up type of blog to attract readers with alike mind.(yeah including you sis!) I love beauty stuffs and I am praying so hard that I can be consistent in blogging this time. I already bought my domain and hosting last march but Im yet to start. You can check my cutesy blog just by googling my username. In case you need someone to chat with about blogging, or just about anything under the sun, or if you have anything to ask Im here to help! (^w^)

Yeap, I also agree. It's good to have fun, but making money out of hobby makes eveything else worthwhile.

Talking about myself, I blog for fun and for profit. Whenever im free or bored, i just do some researches and start a blog about something interesting for people to read about and at the same time, to attract the most number of visitors for profit! Im not in need of extra money or something, I just think that if i have plenty of time and specially its summer now and one can blog and get some money for it, then why not? But im not any professional blogger or something, most of it is for fun. Please have a look at my blog :) www.bookstove.com/book-talk/rare-and-interesting-facts/
