The rebound friend

Hey! Have you guys ever been in the position of being a rebound friend? A rebound friend is like when two friends get pissed off at each and separate and one of them turn to you to fill up the empty void. They hang with you and when things are good again with the other friend, they ditch you immediately and go back to the old friend. That makes you a rebound friend. In a way, they're kind of using you. Have any of you been a rebound friend? In my group of friends, when two best friends who hang out together almost 24/7 have a fight, they separate and find another buddy in the group to hang. I've been the rebound a few times and I hate the feeling. It's annoying how the two best friends just hang with each other all the time and never actually be part of the group.

I have been in this situation before. I remember when to friends got really pissed they actually started to talk to me. They started fighting over who could hang out with me. People are strange sometimes and I guess we just have to try to live with their strangeness.

Woah! Really! I wouldn't want to be in a game of tug of war where my friends are trying to rip me apart. When two fights fight, they always try to find someone to cling to and fill in the missing gap and to piss the other friend more.

Oh yes i know this.I think that there are a lot of people that tend to argue in a friendship and there are lots of people that tend to find or go to see other friends to fill that friendship gap that they have lost.I think that some times it is better just to let things blow over, rather than go and fill the gap, or be used as the gap filler.

Yeah, I agree with you. If you get into a fight, resolve as soon as possible rather than go after another friend to fill up the emptiness and try to further piss off the friend you're fighting with. Some of my friends like to do that but it's their life, I can't do much about it.

hello, Okay. is that how it call? Well, I also experience this and I know how it hurts. right? because I think that I just belong but I was not. I also hate this kind of situation but I dont know what to do when they start hanging up with me. I just let them. I felt so pity to myself now.

Yeah Yeah! That's how I kinda feel too but I just have to go along with it because I tend not to speak up about and I'm too nice. I really hate the feeling, I just hope that the friend will realize what she's doing. She does it to other friends in my group too. We're so use to it that we just don't care anymore. By the way, my name is Tina too! =)

yes, i have been many times, but as they don't care in the end, so do I. It doesn't hurt me, infact i like that at least that person thought that I would be the only person that can replace his/her best friend, and i feel its not a small thing. Just think why only you, they might have selected others too. I try to keep positive things in my memory, be optimistic.

Oh yes, stay positive because bad thoughts bring you down but I'm always pessimistic. I feel that simply being a replacement for a while and then dropped after a while isn't a good feeling. But that's just me. I should learn to be more optimistic. =)
