Problems

What do they mean? It’s a situation, person or thing that needs attention and needs to be dealt with or solved. It’s the hurdles that come in our way of success.
Do you even face such hurdles in your life? There are difficulties over which we have capabilities to get control. But there are certain problems on which we do not have any power. They don't get solved despite of utmost efforts. What is the reason behind? What can be the cure for such problems?
Have you not experienced similar situations like this?
Please share if any and comment on this.
Thanks in advance.

Problems are learning opportunities. We learn to prepare for them once we've gotten through them and anticipate future problems. Of course, here in America the "correct-speaking" people refer to them as "challenges", taking away much of their sting and trivializing them.
Problems ideally instill a sense of preparedness, an urge to avoid problems and quit living solely in the present and look to the future. Without problems we would be helpless an unprepared for the realities of life.

What do you mean by "correct-speaking" people in America? I am not from America but I hold the same concept that you just mentioned here making problems as challenges instead. Look at my comment box above. Good to hear I got someone out there with the same outlook as mine.
"Without problems we would be helpless and unprepared for the realities of life - simply true!

In my opinion, the word "problem" denotes much negativity in it. I do have a principle of trying to eliminate the negativity in life. Due to this, I prefer to define or think of problem as a challenge instead. A challenge is a situation, person or thing that needs to be dealt or conquered to be able to improve yourself to pave the way to success. I do believe that we have the power to deal with such and look into it in a positive way. I think this is the cure to problems. By considering it as a challenge instead, you motivate yourself more to solve it. I hope I do make sense with what I am saying. Just my two cents in here!

I see your point but in my reply below I referred to correct speaking people--that means an offshoot of political correctness and both these philosophies seek to temper the harsh realities of life and sometimes to deny that reality. Problems is harsh and negative, true, but so is life. You and I both want to avoid the negative and banish it as much as possible but I prefer to acknowledge the negative. It makes it easier for me to deal with it firmly and decisively. In calling it a challenge, it is imbued with positive attributes and for me that would make it more difficult to deal with in the ruthless manner that it deserves.
Just a matter of how we look at things, I guess. Thanks for your comments below, they made me think about why I prefer one term over the other.

Everyone has problems, it's normal, it's just all about how you handle those problems that make you the person that you are. If you strive to take care of those problems or eliminate those problems, then you are a better person for it.

Hi Professor!
I like to think of problems as a way of seeing something that needs to be changed. I think that there are problems that sometimes can't be solved right away..but there are things that we can look at to accomplish a different outcome. It might be a solution that creates a different set of problems...but they might be easier to deal with than the big one there once was. I think that problems are not sometimes meant to be solved...that sounds odd doesn't it...hmm...maybe if we renamed "problems" we can think if them differently. Let's call them opportunities to for a difference...lol...I know...me and my optimism.
Take care.

I never had control of who my parents were. I wish I had control of that! I would of picked different ones in a flash! I wish I had control to saving money! It is hard being single and living by myself! I try and try and I get no where! I could go on a tighter budget but I know that will not work! I lost my part-time job becuase I had no control of it! Now I just fill in when needed at my old part-time job! Everyone goes through these situations in life. It is a part of life!

For me, it's just the way of thinking that makes things or situation difficult. Being a Christian and a follower of Jesus Christ, I had problems too. problems that almost crushed me. I always remember that God will not allow any trial so great we cannot bear it and that He will provide a means of escape. That is written in the Bible in 1Corinthians 10:13.
In my problems, I always consult God and give thanks to whatever I am m facing. I know it is difficult to praise and thank God for a very hard situations, but in the Bible, it says, Let us rejoice when we suffer because sufferings help us endure, and endurance builds character. That is written in Romans 5:3-4 in the Bible.
I see my worries as an opportunity to practice. To trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not on to my own understanding. I cannot handle things on my own and I only trust God because He knows best. Why? Because He is my Creator and He knows me, my problems and only He knows how to fix it.
Temptation is common to mankind, but I always remember that God is bigger than any problems and worries put together. Lastly, things on earth are only temporary. We must set our minds on things that are above, and not the things that are here on earth. "Colossians 3:2"
I acknowledge that I am not perfect. But I am loved by a perfect God and I thank God that He is my God and no other =)
I hope this will help =) God Bless you my brother =)

Problems come into the a person's life when they are not balanced. Not using good boundaries or using our instincts. I think we are being testing and that reincarnation and Karma come into it as well. If there is stuff from another life entering into the mix then you have some work to do.

hello professor,
problems pulls us down and when one is not strong enough mentally, thats when the trouble starts.
as much as possible i dont dwell on the problem like it needs a solution right away. some i find answers but for some that i cannot, i let my faith solve it. i just pray and let time find its answer.

Yeah, maybe there are problems like that, even you gave your best and tried so hard to fixed it or improve it doesn't work. Maybe because of the other factors involving the problem or situation, the person or the things... I don't know... Sometimes when I have really big problem and I can't handle it anymore I just pray and talk to Him and cry to Him. After that I feel relieved.

I believe problems makes us think and act, unlike other things where they take it as given and follow. Its the problem, which allows man to think or its an attention towards a step which we should take and act for achieving his desires. Its gives the real experience to understand the sweetness of life.

Hello Papa!
Yes I have faced numerous times problems which have been beyond my control. Though I am a very stubborn person, I tend to fight against the issues and try and solve. I am not perfect as their are times as well, that I get weak and stress a great deal over issues I cannot control.
There does come a time when I finally gain acceptance and simply allow life to take it's course. I do believe in God and will always try to put the issues in his hands. I must admit that there have been times that I second guess myself and stress to no end at times.
Eventually I have been able to overcome, accept and life goes on to it's next chapter.

Hi Professor! This is nice to discuss with.I think most people really have experienced that. The difference is how people deal with it, right? Anyways, in my case I do have to think of it many times. It takes days, weeks and months before I feel at ease. Later I realized that things happen with a purpose. If I am into this problem that can't be solved then I should embrace it. I should find ways why it has given to me. I should take it positively and hope that there would be better things after this.

I've found that many of these unsolvable problems become solved through no effort of mine at all. I've also found the problems that have not been resolved by me or by themselves are the ones that remain on my mind until they become solved. Some of my problems never get resolved. These are our limitations in life. Hence, the old saying we have: "Let go and let God".
This leads me to conclude, seeing as many problems I should never have wasted time on trying to resolve actually turned out to be stepping stones to a more positive result than if I would have resolved them in the first place.
For instance: The highly active, hard to control child that makes us worry about their future. This often translates to a highly active, creative adult who succeeds far beyond our dreams because they are free thinking and ambitious!

I have experienced that one long time ago! problem that you have no power how to solve it. That was when our country was devastated by a strong typhoon and our house was completely destroy. Not just our house but also the house of our relatives. It was tough! We have no money and all we had is soup to cure our hunger. I can't really solve it since I was just 6 years old at that time.
