Obama sinks to lowest approval level of his presidency

United States
August 23, 2011 2:07pm CST
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 19% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as president. Forty-five percent (45%) Strongly Disapprove, giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -26 This is the lowest Approval Index rating yet measured for President Obama. The previous low was -24 reached yesterday and also in September 2010. Additionally, the level of Strong Approval matches the lowest yet recorded. Dare we hope??? Is this a sign that re-election is not a sure thing for Barack Hussein Obama (The Destroyer). Of course if he gives all the illegal immigrants amnesty he will he hoping for the millions of "gratitude votes". Your opinion? PS. Trashing the source does not deny the validity of the poll.

are you implying what I think you are implying? Obama, a Muslim? Really? Truthfully, I don't think it matters at this point if he is or isn't a Muslim. He's come real close to destroying us without help from his friends from the mid east.

YOU cannot be serious!! LOOK at the man...and the things he does for Muslims.... He had a birth certificate after how long???and who did he pay for that........ He has no background we can see or have heard of...I also know he had no wife or kids til he ran for pres.... Honestly, the man is a muslim. Pay attention. He's not white, nor is he black.......... I really do believe he's out to make us a Marx type country. Don't wait too long to find find this out and just stand there........he's muslim from head to toe. I 'd bet my grandma on it... But, I do agree, he is destroying us. Read all the posts...

Oh I know I have been watching the Polls and well only a single I won't mention him for fear of High Jacking the thread to a topic on this one candidate he is from Texas though. Is the only guy looking to beat him. As for the whole approval level thing well are you surprised that thing that passed wasn't even good enough to keep our credit rating AAA and under his first term it was downgraded the first in history since the united states got it.

Yes it is so sad that our country has lost it's standing as the leader of the free world. I am also keeping my eye on the Texan.

don't worry in 2012 I have a good feeling that this Texan despite being ignored is going to be debating the President of the United States.

Congress should impeach Obama but they won't. I don't think electing the Texan or anyone else for that matter will change things overly much unless we get serious about electing a new Congress. What do you think whiteheather, kick them all out? Or maybe just those who are NOT Tea Party members?

Are you refering to Maxine Waters? She ALSO said the Tea Party is the enemy and wished them all to h3ll, said she'd see that they got there herself. I guess she forgot the Tea Party members are AMERICANS too. She represents them as much as she does the citizens on the left, doesn't she? Such is the state of American politics. We are already in deep doo doo.

Reelection has never been a "sure thing" for any President or any other incumbent, for that matter. Remember George H.W. Bush's 90+% approval rating in 1991? Anyway, there's been no amnesty offered but I won't argue about that with you...lol! Out of curiosity, since you've been clearly hoping for someone else to be elected President in 2012 since 2008, which one of the gang of losers running for the GOP nod do you think would do better? With any of them you can kiss the environment, the middle class, organized labor, public education, Medicare and Social Security goodbye! Annie

anniepa you are still blind to reality. It is you and people like you who allow this man to destroy our country. What is just as bad he has contaminated the rest of the Democratic party now it is filled with self serving sycophants who would rather let Obama run amok than defy him.

Well if Ron Paul is elected you can also kiss the three wars Obama has us in goodbye. Oh, I know Bush started the first two, but they should be over and our troops should be home. I'm quite positive you agree with me on that one. How do you feel about Obama's desire to keep our troops in Afghanistan for another 13 years? I don't know why you think that any of the GOP frontrunners would kill Public education. That is managed at the state and local level and is not part of the federal government. Sure, the DOE is more than happy to take taxpayer dollars, attach strings to them, and give the money back to the states, but I'd rather that money stay at the local level myself. Obama has done nothing for organized labor since being elected despite the lack of union powers for federal employees. I don't see why you think that would get any worse with a GOP president.

He is pushing very hard to make Puerto Rico a state before the 2012 elections. He thinks that that will 'wrap up' the Latino vote everywhere. I am not too sure about that however. He is though, and if he does not get what he wants we will see the first state made so by Executive Order...

I honestly cannot believe that the American people allow this man to continue using each and every possible method to get what he wants and secure votes by any and all crooked methods.

After reading Dr. Corsi's book on the birth certificate issue and watching FOX news this past month over the debt crisis I cannot believe Congress has not moved to impeach him. I guess they are afraid of the inner cities rioting and what that may mean to their reelection bids. Obama is a criminal.

I will say this, obama has done more than any other president has done in the whithouse beside bill clinton I will also say that being a president is not a easy job and I was saying the samething when Busch was in office because everytime a president comes into office they are taking over the mess that another president has left all this was due to come anyway, this is nothing new we were headed for destruction, this stuff has been going on since the beginning of time with jobs and taxes and everything it was not until this war became relevent that it came to a point to where it had to be taking care of, I don't agree with everything that Obama does but there will never be a president that will make everyone happy because no matter what any president do there is always going to be someone not agreeing with the president, and yes I am a registerd voter so I can voice my opinion, if you don't vote than you should not have no say in anything that goes on. And do you really think that the immigrants just started coming here and taking jobs yeah right they been here, it started with all other nationalites first, I don't know everything that goes on in the whitehouse and neither do anyone but a lot of dicisions made are messed up and it was due to come, look at the paths we where taking, come on. And I can almost gurantee you that the next president that comes in the white house it will be a little easier for him or her because Obama is getting the worst out of the way, with pulling troops out getting Ben liden and getting people their jobs back and also coming to a conclusion about the debt that we are in. So the next president don't have much to worries about, One thing that Obama had to do was break down the trash that was already here and start over, because you couldn't build trash on top of trash and you can't start a clean slate on trash, so of course as how we see it nothing is working but let's see what the outcome will be once its all done, but this was due to come no matter who was in office.

EVERY president ever elected has inherited the previous president's mess. NO OTHER president in history has made it WORSE like Obama has. I'm sick of the excuses being made for this man. He is not stupid, he is Harvard educated, supposedly. He has made it WORSE on purpose with the intention of bringing us down. How else can you explain the stupid decisions being made the last three years? It is an ideological war being waged and Obama is the cornerstone of 'change' to socialism and government take over of our lives and economy. All with the intent of a world government and economy. I don't have time or inclination to map it all out for those who would refuse to see it anyway. Every facet of our culture, our society and our industry and government has been pushed to this point for the last two generations. And here we are wondering if we can change it with one election. Americans need to return to the values of hard work, charity towards their neighbor, accountability before God and society that we had when my grandparents came to this nation to build a better life. IF that happens, which it won't, we may have hope of saving our nation. All I can hope for is a return to some of what has been lost. We need an awakening in this country. It matters not what religion you follow, it is not religious values or morals I am speaking of per say. We can return to common sense decency and law without tagging it religious. And character matters in government and in culture. That is what America needs. And Obama is not the one to bring us that change, as he has well shown.

I'm hoping that's an indication we'll be rid of him soon. However, I was reminded the other day of something that I haven't been paying much attention to. We can blame Obama all we want but it's Congress that has to approve his spending and his programs. If Congress had the welfare of the nation first and foremost in their minds, we would not have most of these troubles. Sure, the Prez has some insane, unworkable ideas and won't listen to good advice but the Congress passes nearly everything he proposes. Our "representatives" is really where the problem lies. They are the true villains with treason in their hearts.

I don't care for the guy. Havent voted since Clinton. He left the country in the black and about 240 billion in revenue. Dare we hope? We do regardless. If he really feels these illegal immigrants are going to register and vote for him- well, what will he think of next.

Unfortunately no poll is an indication of upcoming election. Especially as far away as over a year from now. And though the source of the poll reporting is not important, the questions asked always are. This poll is a straight up "how's he doing in your mind right now" type. Even if most Democrats are dissatisfied with him, they'll still flock to him over a Republican candidate and Independents may still like him better than the alternative once that person is decided, leaving this poll fairly useless. There is always hope. But it does not really lie in what the public feels about Obama. The unknown commodity is how the public is going to react to the eventual Republican nominee. The way the Republican Party has been leaning lately, I feel hope slipping away regardless of these numbers for Obama.

The Republican party needs to focus on the economy, and foreign policy and leave 'values' out of it this election. We cannot afford another four years of Obama's 'values' either.
