There are stores i shop at for my groceries that ado not accept double coupons for items so i dont understand how these extreme coupon people are saving this much money. I just found out that target will accept a target coupon and a manufacturer coupon for the same item so i think i might start doing that since i do have a super target now by me.
Alsso just found out that publix is now offering the same thing and will take target coupons like walmart does and this does help because they will take a publix coupon and a manufacturer coupon. So i might start doing this and see how much i can actually save.
What stores do you know take double coupons?

I have never heard that walmart will take target coupons. Stores here have rules to their doubling and only one store does that. You have to spend $25 besides the coupon items and you are limited to 5 coupons up to $1 in value. I don't know about you but that makes no sense unless you were buying $25 in items that don't have coupons and went thru the line more than once doing the same thing.
The extreme coupon people are doing them at stores not everyone has. So I feel it's a shame to have a show nationwide when the stores they are able to do this at are not national chains.
I've been told walgreens will let you use their coupons on top of a mfgr coupon but I have not done it.
I don't get the sunday paper because most of the coupons are useless here unless they are over $1 or for a free item.

I wish I could do double coupons. Not a single store around here does double couponing. I hear about other people from other areas doing it and I am so jealous. That is good to know about Target, I will certainly take advantage of that. I would certainly do the double coupon thing if I could. The best I can do is a buy one get one free deal and use two coupons, some stores around here don't even allow that.

In Florida, there aren't double coupons.
Most stores allow stacking (a store coupon, plus a manufacturer's coupon). Some stores honor competitors' coupons; however, which stores' coupons they will honor can vary widely even between stores within the same chain in the same region.
I hit the blogs for information on what deals are out there. I try to wait for sales on items. Sales run in cycles. Once you figure out how your stores run their sales, you will know when to stock up on certain items.
The show Extreme Couponing is extremely unrealistic. It doesn't show how much time and effort the couponers put into planning out those "perfect" shopping trips.
For fresh fruits and veggies, belonging to a CSA or going to the farmers' market is generally much better than going to the local supermarket--both in terms of price and quality. Unfortunately, neither of those options is really available to me here, since there really aren't many organic farms in Florida (and I try to purchase only organic fruits and vegetables).
If you are really serious about using coupons, invest in a binder with baseball card sleeves. Create or download a template for divider pages (be certain to have a table of contents). That will make things much simpler.
As I work my way through the store, I transfer the coupons I'm using to another container. I know that some people have their trips planned out perfectly and already have all of their intended coupons in a separate envelope before they even go into the store, but I find that isn't very helpful to do that here, since it isn't uncommon for the stores not to have the items I'm looking for in stock... or my boyfriend will decide that he wants something not on the list (do I have a coupon for X?)... or I see something that I have a coupon for that isn't on sale (and never seems to go on sale here) but is a good deal with the coupon nonetheless.
I also hit CVS and Walgreens. These are the trips that can exhaust my boyfriend. However, he has come to appreciate them, since I have become rather good at shopping those stores. We now have stockpiles of certain items such as toothpaste, band aids, pain killers, and shampoo that should last for several months (or longer) without me refreshing them in the least.

My daughter uses bi-lo's and publix for her coupons. She has gotten into the coupon thing and has researched each store and knows what they accept and how much.I never would have thought she would be the one to use coupons, she used to get irritated when she was behind someone else who used them. Now she is all into the coupons and constantly on the computer looking for them. She uses groupon, coupon alert and a few other others. She typed in saving on groceries with coupons and went on a lot of sites.I haven't gotten into the coupons yet, anyway.I always forget to take them with me.Good luck.

Piggly wiggly in certain places doubles coupons. Fred's doubles coupons on Saturdays. I know Walmart is awesome with their price match policy. I usually pick up competitors papers through the week and price match at Walmart. I gave up on coupons. I was not getting coupons for stuff I actually buy. I did end up getting a free flyswatter! If you have multiple computers and printers like the extreme coupon girls do maybe coupons would be worth it.
