I love to eat Kentucky Fried Chicken. And I will usually use my hands when I'm enjoying those KFC chickens. I guess that's why they say that KFC is fingers licking good.
When I eat, I will only use 2 fingers from each hand to hold the fried chicken so that my palms will not get oily. But my son will use all his 5 fingers to hold the fried chicken and both his hands will end up very oily after eating.
How about you? Do you use all your 5 fingers when you're enjoying those fingers licking good fried chicken or are you like me, using only 2 of your fingers? How do you enjoy your fried chicken?

Hi Jlyn ...
Sorry, couldnt help the emoticon... I just love these Fried Chicken
Hey, such a thing is not meant for discussion. It must be practically observed and you should have invited me to the party to see for yourself how much I love this dish and how impatient I can get to have a feast on these

Hello Jlyn
Maybe the KFC here is not as good as in your area. Here it is really greasy and tastes like it needs to be fried longer.
I do like Popeyes more, maybe it is just a preference. But let me see when I pick up the chicken, and I am painting a picture in my mind as we speak. Oh not sure I know if I am hungry I gobble the poor thing. I think I am like you in the sense that I don't use my hands fully and use the fingers too.
Then I do the commercial bit and lick my fingers away.

Hi HWG
I guess all KFC chickens are greasy.
We don't have Popeyes here. Is it somewhat like KFC?
Everything sure taste good when we are hungry. I only use 2 fingers from each hand to hold the chickens, so I can only lick 4 fingers for each meal.

Hi Jlyn,
I used to love KFC but now I wouldn't eat there if they gave it away. An employee there told me about a rat falling into the fryolater(sp) and I didn't, couldn't eat there for the longest time. I did go in there once after and started to eat it but my imagination took hold and I just couldn't so I wasted my money. Since then, I've learned how the chicken is processed and well, I don't often eat fast food at all. I can't do KFC and only very rarely will I go for Mcdonalds or Wendy's. I know there are stories about those places too but the rat story was local and I just can't do it. Even the other places...two of my daughters work at Wendy's and they tell me stuff and on a scale, I'd probably rank Wendy's as one of the better fast food places.

Ya, I'm sure that they did clean up the oil and all but the rat did get fried and served. I just can't eat there without thinking of that story. I'm sure that it is one of those things that happens rarely. Wendy's isn't bad for fast food. Their meat is not frozen at least like McDonalds is and just tastes more like real hamburger I think.

Hi sid
I'm sorry that you had to go through that bad experience, but I'm sure they would have cleaned up the mess and gotten rid of the leftover oil. And I bet they are more careful now to make sure that everything is kept properly so that it won't happen again. Come to think of it, we wouldn't know exactly what's happening behind the scene, do we? Too bad, we don't have Wendy's here but I would definitely like to try it out.

I can't enjoy eating KFC fried chicken without using my fingers. I have to use three of my fingers on both hands. I am not contented with just two fingers. I wonder how come I've seen lots of people who eats at KFC using fork and spoon. I wonder if they really could enjoy the finger-licking goodness of the chicken or they are just shy to show the people they are using their hands! Ha!ha!ha! But it is not a sin to use fingers if you want to enjoy your eating anyway!

I use my third finger because that is the natural way I do it. I don't really know why but I am acting by my natural tendency. Maybe that is how I could handle the chicken more securely. It is hard if it falls and landed on the floor. Ha!ha!ha! I'd end up in the queue again for my new chicken! Hu!hu!hu!

Me neither, salonga. Those people who use fork and spoon to eat KFC are sure missing all the fun in the finger-licking. But I have to lick 2 fingers less than you cause I will only use 2 fingers from each hand. Some say that they use the third finger to support the chicken. And you?

Yes, I totally know what you mean. I am so not use to eating KFC with fork and knife for fear that my chicken would fly to the next table. At least with my fingers, I would be able to hold my chicken tight and it won't slip that easily out of my hands. And the best part is that we get to lick what's left on our fingers.

Hi jricky
Why do you not feel great after eating KFC? I will only use two of my fingers to eat because I don't feel comfortable using five. If I were to use five, I know for sure that my whole hands will be covered with oil. At least I can control the oil from spreading to my palm if I use only two fingers.

I no longer eat KFC due to the grease in it, My diet will not allow that much salt and fats.
When I did eat the fatty foods I would use a knife and fork. Now my diet consists of the food that our four fathers eat, nuts, fruit, veggies, red meat. We are after all still hunter gathers so the processed foods are not good for us.

I guess that is why it taste so good. You are probably right once in a while, our body will work it through.
I have found, since I started following the new Gov't guidelines on what to eat, that for me anyway, a lot of the foods that I used to like and crave do not appeal to me near as much as they once did.

hi jlyhn oh I also love KFC chicken but its been ages since I had some. I always used a napkin in my fingers to keep my palms clean
but that's the only way to eat chicken is holding it in your hands.
I have not been close to a KFC store in the last several years and here their chicken is never thoroughly cooked so the legs are often pink inside. I refuse to eat partly cooked chicken as rare chicken is not good for you because most have salmonella germs in them that must be thoroughly cooked to be safe to eat.

Hi Mrs Hatley
I agree with you. It's not enjoyable eating chicken without using our hands.
And you are right. It's not healthy to eat half cooked chicken. But sometimes we do not know until we sliced it up and look inside. So I will usually just not eat that uncooked part. Maybe you should complain it to the person who cooked them.
How I wish we are not living so far apart, cause if you are here, I would love to take you to a KFC outlet for a finger licking treat.

I guess I never really thought about this until now. :) I think that I use all my fingers to hold it but not let it tough my palms. I do love KFC my problem though is that the one in our area is not very good. It always takes forever to get our food. Like one time we spent 20 mins in the drive through just to get 2 burgers and 2 fries. So unfortunately my husband doesn't want us to support this one. Which means less KFC for us. Hopefully they will get better management soon.

Me and my husband also love KFC. They serve bigger portions on Chicken in here but they don't have the grave they have in the PHilippines. They have white sauce and barbecue sauce in here. We don't eat chicken by hand when we are out, we prefer to take it home and eat comfortably with hands.

Sorry I prefer Popeyes over KFC, but yes, I use my hands to devour the food, and then lick/suck all the juice and flavoring off my fingers.

@TexanTornado This is how the spicy KFC looks like. Is this how Popeye's spicy chicken looks like too?
You are right, shouldn't let all the good stuff go to waste. And when were finished, we don't even have to wash our hands as they are already cleaned.

@Jlyn10 It's the only fried chicken place I will eat at and when they ask, 'Spicy or Mild', it's like duh, 'Spicy of course'.
Oh yes, no point in letting all the good stuff go to waste.

Hello Dear Jlyn! Don't forget about me when ever you are talking about KFC! Now regarding using of the fingers it depends upon what I am having there at KFC, If am having Chicken burgers then I use almost all three to four fingers of my both hands to hold it! If I am having fried chicken I may use three fingers or even four also, it generally depends on my hunger more the hungry I am ,more the number of fingers I use to have a proper grip on the food so that I can have my proper bite to quench my hunger fast! If needed I don't mind licking my fingers while having Fried Chicken and I use the special KFC sauce and the french fries along with the chicken fry with the Cold drink! Normally I don't have cold drinks , but with KFC fried chicken it goes fairly well for me! Now a days in India KFC introduced KFC Rhizo a rice preparation similar to fried rice with a piece of fried chicken and gravy! I like it and the taste is really good one! It is light but quite aromatic and spicy to satisfy the Indian taste buds and the Indian palate! Thanks for the mouth watering discussion! I relished it!!!!

Hi AKRoa
You're most welcome.
We have the rice and chicken servings here as well. Maybe the taste would be slightly different here in Malaysia. But I just like the plain chicken especially the hot and spicy flavour. And you are right, it goes just great with the cold gassy drinks.
Yes, I notice there are some who only use their 4 fingers to hold the chicken/burger or some other food and the last finger would be pointing outward . Why not use it too?

I love to eat at KFC but once in a blue moon. I would hold the chicken in my fingers and don't like spoiling my entire palm with greasy substance. I believe the chicken is best enjoyed when it is served hot.

@cynthiann Thanks, I'd like that very much. I hope I don't have to pay for the chicken.
I think it's good to have less intake of meat. Vegetables are always good for health.

My family loves to eat fried chicken especially from KFC. In fact, there are many KFC outlets in mt area here, so it is very convenient for us. We loves the original recipe of fried chicken, most of the time. Only sometimes i will prefer the spicy ones. My son loves the mashed potatoes with bun. But he loves especially, the french fries a lot. So whenever we went to have our lunch or dinner in KFC, we need to order these few items.

I love KFC, as well. In Thailand, it's the no.1 fastfood chain. They beat McDonald's hahahahah!! I don't like using my hands though when eating any kind of food. I am so lazy to wash hands before and after eating. That's what the spoon and fork are for, anyway.hehehe...

Where I am, I guess McDonald's beat KFC because each time I visit McD, it is always packed with people. But if you ask me to choose between those 2, I would prefer KFC.
Yes, I guess spoon and fork are useful but I would get a good grip of my chicken with my fingers. They usually supply us with fork and knife at KFC but I was worried that my chicken would fly off to the next table if I were to use them, haha!
But nowadays, they don't supply us with the utensils anymore because just about everyone is using their hands to eat KFC these days. Maybe they want us to show that it's really fingers licking good.
