The older we are the closer we are becoming.

i have a brother. we don't frequently talk life together. the earliest time we talked about life was when he was about to high school. i wrote to him and told him the mportance of to be admitted by a good high school. it seems that my brother and i don't have any serious talk ever. we just play and quarrel and i think it will keep going in our life.

Hi jill! I envy your relationship with your sister. I am not close to any of my siblings. I have two sisters and one brother. I used to be close with my younger sister, that's when we were still kids and teenagers and until I was in college. But when she got pregnant and lived with her husband and had kids, we grew far apart. This started at the time when I showed her and told her how I did not approve of her rebellious attitude which gotten her pregnant. (I was studying far away then so I could not know what was happening to her) After that, we just stopped talking. Right now, we still don't talk although I am not angry at her anymore. I love her kids and I love her but we are not just close anymore.

I have 2 sisters. They are both younger than me, but I am closest to my youngest sister. Her and I have been pretty close for a couple yrs. now. I many times wish that she would not have moved to the other side of the US so now the only way we can talk is on the phone, but we still have a lot of Fun times talking and wishing each other the Best in everything.

i only have one sister . Don't tell anyone but she is a lot older than I. We didn't grow up together so we didn't have a riff. We are super close now.

Oh no, my sister and I are only growing much further apart as we get older..So far apart now, that I wonder if I should just delete her off everything I have from FB to e-mail, as I don't want her in my life as she is nothing but a hypocritical liar that just brings me down in 9 out of 10 times I talk to her... When I was just a kid my older sister which was born before me was my closest. Now that I have my own family I became close to all my siblings. I think the older I got the more I feel that I love all of them and would want to be close to all of them without any favoritism. We are all 5 in the family, 3 girls and 2 boys and all of us are very close to each other.

Nice to hear you are spending time with your younger sister and having a great time. I only have an older brother who lives in our area but he's busy working all the time and traveling. We make sure to get together for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We are very different but do get along well. His wife is exacly my age so we can chat about all kinds of fun things from the 60's including the music which I genuinely love.

I just have one sibling, my older sister by two years and one month exactly. I have made every effort to be close to her. She never wanted to be close with me. She only contacts me when she wants something. It used to bother me because I would wonder what was it about me that she didn't like? But now I realize it has nothing to do with me. It's all her. I've been a good sister, and I'm not an arrogant person so when I say that I'm speaking the truth. I just wish she would be half of the sister to me that I am to her.

That is about the same way with me and my youngest sister too. We have become closer over the last few years also.

i am an only child and even now wish i had a sibling! however, hubby and i have two daughters 18 and 14 and i hope as they grow older they will be close (they have mostly always gotten along fairly well.)

It's great that you and your younger sister are growing closer. I don't have any actual siblings (just ones I've gathered along the way). I do wish that my boyfriend and his brother would be growing closer together. Unfortunately, to date, that hasn't been the case. I think that how parents raise their children usually plays a large role in whether siblings will be close or, at the very least, on speaking terms as adults. Playing one sibling against the other, constantly comparing and criticizing... That is a recipe for disaster. I hope that, if I ever have children, I won't slip into comparing them to each other. I hope that I never clearly favor one child over another.

Yes, I have two older sisters and the one up from me is very close to me. We talk all the time on the phone even though we are in different continents. My eldest sister is the one who drinks heavily and verbally abuses me. I do love her dearly but I cannot live with her. I am always on edge waiting for the barbed comment. She does have serious health issues so I do not want to quarrel with her but sometimes she is impossible. she was the one who came and lived with me for 5 weeks last Christmas. I was so frustrated that I actually drove into a wall. I saw the wall and knew in my brain that it was a wall but just kept going

I'm an only child, I always wanted sisters I could be close with, or even a brother. As I got older I realized how close I am with my cousins and they fill that void in my life. I got close with them over the years, now we haven't seen each other in a few months but at one point we would see each other all the time. I still talk to them at least a few times every week. I'm really glad that you are so close with your sisters and thats such a great bond to have. I got closer and closer with my parents as I got older and shared more with them and now I'm at a point where they know everything about me.

But I think that I'm more closer to my 18yr old sister than the 15 yr old one. Maybe because I wanted to be more hands on to this 18yr old that I'm helping about applying to work since the other one is still a high school student. But anyway, both of them knows that I love them both. Nice discussion u have here!

I only have the one, and although we get on really well when we're together we don't have a huge amount in common at this stage in our lives.

I have only one sibling living, my sister. She's older than me, however only by age. All through elementary and high school she always tried to say she was more mature and intelligent than me. Once I went out into the work world it dawned on her that maybe I had more to offer her than she did for me. So she became my friend. Unfortunately, not much changed in what she knew and what she thought she knew. I've always helped her out of any jam I had the power to. She still thinks I have it so much easier than her and will even say it once in a while. In the end I'm still leading the way. That's OK.
