Hi, I have invited my batchmates from Elementary but I don't have any idea what to expect. I can't think of anything that everybody would generally enjoy and I don't have the funds to throw a big party for them. I just wanted them to stop asking me when will the reunion happen...I didn't think alot would participate but as it turns out...11 people are already coming and that's just the list for today. I really need to have something where everyone will enjoy yet won't cost that much...Any suggestions you guys? The reunion would take place on Dec. 17....by the way!

I can understand that you are trying your best to make the reunion a success, and trying to make all your classmates feel happy. That is excellent. Yet, in any case, giving the opportunity to get together and see one another after a long time itself is a huge success which every one would value and be happy about.

Exactly, I set it on my birthday this year and I consider it a reunion whether it be a small or big one. I actually set one everytime I can and those who can come it always welcome. Anyway, this guy who supposedly was my bestfriend during elementary days said "I'm in, 1st reunion? why not?" so I responded, where were you? I thought you were in a reunion I initiated last 2008..(which was my bday again) that he attended...he was like, "I'm sorry..I did not know that a birthday celebration is a reunion"... They are expecting this type of Grand reunion which I am actually planning to have in 2-3 years but I need to create a committee for it...I'm really annoyed because not one of them ever tried to initiate or even create a group for the Batch on Facebook...I did, because I was really excited to see my batch mates and their success through the years...
I guess some people just don't get the idea of a reunion. They think reunion is about programs and big venues, things that don't really matter if you're interested in your batch mates...I prefer a group of us sitting and talking about the things we used to do during grade school and actually talk, get to know those you really never had a chance to know before...
So I told that guy to take charge because apparently he can do better, he thinks it's just a birthday celebration. Didn't it cross his mind that I could have just easily celebrate my birthday with the group of friends I have these days? why would I invite exclusively only my batch mates if it was a birthday celebration right? Or I could easily NOT celebrate my birthday that way, i could just have a movie marathon and gorge with chips, ice cream and coke with my boyfriend... I'm sure I'd enjoy that! LOL!

Our reunion is always karaoke and drinking. We usually just have everyone bring food or assign who brings the foods, the drinks and the entertainment. Sometimes, when karaoke is not available, we just talk and get drunk, the entertainment thing is the nostalgia we feel when we look back. It is always fun to have a reunion every once in a while.

Well you planned the party found the spot and all. It wouldn't hurt to ask some of the guests to bring some food or entertainment. Do some reunion type games where you guys get to know each other all over again. Because it's been some years right. Make the guests pitch in and make it a party. Especially if they are the ones begging you to do it.
