Do you think Grey's Anatomy will survive without Meredith Grey?

Well, Ellen Pompeo's (Meredith Grey) contract will end after the next season (Season 8) And possibly won't comeback. I fell in love with the show because of Dr. Meredith Grey (and Dr. Derek Shepard) And I don't think it's the same without her. She's the Grey on the Show. She's the glue that holds them all together. So I am really hoping she will stay or just end the show already if she decided not to renew her contract.

It would be kind of odd to have Grey's Anatomy without Grey, the show is titled off of her character. The show is so darn good though and there are so many really good characters on there. I would hope the show could survive without her. It would be odd though without her, and I wonder what would become of Derek's character and how she would leave, hopefully they would not kill her character off so that she does not have the opportunity to come back. I hate that they killed off George. At least Izzy can come back any time she wants to.

True! A lot of good characters are on the show. It could've Dr. Bailey's show. I love her! She has always been entertaining and a perfect role model. But Grey's Anatomy is merely about Meredith Grey's Journey! She started the show, she should end the show! Just like what they did on F.R.I.E.N.D.S and then they created a spin-off Joey!
For added info: Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh And Justin Chambers (Derek, Cristina and Alex) the other 3 main characters' contract is also only until Season 8.

Right! I know sometimes she's really annoying and selfish but that makes me fell in love with her character cause she learned a lot from her mistakes. She has matured a lot since day one. And also, I really don't see Lexie Grey can take over the series. I like Lexie but her Character is not strong enough to take the lead.

Its the one thing that I love most in Grey's Anatomy is Meredith, so no, maybe it wont survive. and I know many will disagree if she wont be appearing anymore in Grey's..

I really don't see how the show can go on. She is the show, she is GREY, as in Grey's Anatomy...hello show people! If you don't get Ellen Pompeo back, the show is not going to last! lol
I, like you, am a fan of Grey, and she needs to be in the show for it to be successful.

I would agree that without Meredith Grey the series won't be that good. It isn't because of her presence, it's mainly because Grey's Anatomy involves Mederith Grey's character and people she's in contact with.
