Why should i spend money to make myself look younger? I can have my own facial cream right from my garden.
I started gardening last year. I planted mostly flowers, grass, weeds(kidding) and some herbs. Then I came across an article yesterday on how to get rid of blackheads. First steam, then put some lemon juice on your face and let it sit for 20 minutes. Then mix aloe vera gel with two egg whites and apply on your face. Wait till it dries up and voila! You have a healthy looking skin that can make your face look younger, pores smaller and no blackheads!
Now this is suppose to be in beauty section but i prefer to have it in the topic gardener. I just want to brag that i am one and i am taking those lemons and aloe vera gel right from my garden!

So you have a "green thumb"! That's another nice attribute of yours again Toni.
I envy people who can plant and make them bloom and grow well. I have tried putting some ornamental plants in our sala before , watered and have them outside once in a while for the sunshine , yet ,they all withered. I gave up after that. I just now appreciate plants.
Congratulations for having your own garden of beautifying plants.

Ok so you steam your face? I take it that’s just like, bowl of boiling hot water, with like a towel over your head, and let the water vapour/steam open your pores? Do you put anything in the water?
And when you say lemon juice, are we talking, literally cut a lemon in half and rub it on your face? Or like bottled lemon juice? Or squeeze a lemon onto a face cloth? ..
And then just fix aloe vera, and two egg whites, and just rub it all over your face, and peel it off? .. and that actually tightens your pores and makes them look smaller, and removes blackheads? Seriously?
Wow.

Seriously! Fresh lemon, rub it on your face. If you want you can squeeze out the juice and yeah just spray it on your face and let it sit there for 20 minutes! Make sure you don't have broken skin or it would really sting! It really does work! Eggs have collagen, it can prevent wrinkles and improve the elasticity of the skin too.

wow. i am SO giving this a try!
i bought those pore strips.. you know the ones you take out of the wrapper, wet your face, and then you put them over your nose and forehead and chin.. and then after 15 minutes you feel them off, and all your blackheads etc are on the strip? but boy do they HURT to take off! i pulled a whole layer of skin off! any wonder i've no blackheads after using them, i've no skin either haha!

I am also constantly amazed about what miracles my ordinary garden can bring. Not only does it give me seasonings for my cooking, but it actually offers beauty tips, like what you narrated. Most importantly, a garden can bring calm and peace....

True! Just last night my husband and i stayed in the garden. Just sitting and enjoying the cold breeze of the night. Felt like it's December already.

So do you have a Lemmon tree? My goodness that is wonderful. My mom had an aloe plant once. She brought it home from Florida. She used the aloe Vera gel from the plant on her poison ivy. She had a really bad case of it it helped her heal her skin.

It's very easy to grow aloe vera! They're like grass, they can grow without needing much of your attention.

I so agree! I am glad you are enjoying your garden! As I study to become an Herbalist, I find so many fun beauty recipes from the "weeds" around my home. Oh the blessings of nature! I just adore Aloe.

This is interesting, and I am sure would work. Many times finding things like this to try instead of spending money on all the Creams and such out there that may not always work for everyone can be the best thing for sure. Anytime you use something natural like this you are definately helping restore and add to your own natural beauty as well.

Hello Toni!
That's a great share. I guess in this changing world it is nice of you to find a treasure in your garden. Some people also find some herbal and natural medicine form their backyards. It's also a way o reducing cost for monthly expenses at home.Good luck!
