First Love Never Dies - still true?

They say that first love never dies and before when I was younger I used to believe in that. My first love was not my first boyfriend, but actually my 4th boyfriend, and our relationship lasted for 6 years, unfortunately, not for long. things change, things happen, and maybe it is our destiny. But I think that if we were given a chance, I would still love to be with him. Although we are far apart, I say that if there is someone that I would go back to, its gonna be him. But then the situation now is different and we both have our own relationships. I love who I am with right now. And I dont feel anything for my first love anymore, but who knows, we dont know what the future might hold... your thoughts? any similar experiences?

My first love and I lasted for 3 years. After out separation, it really did took awhile to begin and restart everything again. I believe what I've felt for him is still there, but as time helped me, it's presence is not that strong as before and is only in my memory.

Yes mine is also in the memory and no more strong feelings too. Maybe first love will always be in our minds but then there wont be any more strong feelings, unless you will burn the fire again..

I think first love does die eventually and that happens when you find the right one for you.I mean that first love will always have a special place in your life but there's no feelings anymore.

Well you have a point there. There will always have a special place in your heart for first loves but the feeling of passion and love may not be full anymore.

I totally think we never truly get over our first loves. I am in love with my husband now but I could never get over my first true love. I feel that he was my soul mate and who I was supposed to be with but I messed up that opportunity. I haven't even seen or talked to him in years but every once in a while I will see his pic and my heart just stops. I can't see how you could get over the first love its how you learn to love and be a better person.

Awww. really? Hmm so it is true for some people huh. like you. :) Yes I think how we get over them is to be a better person and learn to love a different person. Hey, why are you still keeping a picture of him though? Your husband might see it? Well, I have a picture of my first love still and letters and everything about him, but then I dont go through it because memories will be flashing in my mind.

Well, I partly believe so that it is true. Sometimes there are feelings left from our experiences with our first love.
