I am one of the many who is so scared of dying. But I always thought that immortality will be really tiring and it might be true. My mythology teacher once said that the gods envy the mortals because we get to rest and they can't, and that this jealousy has brought the suffering of the mortals in this world that they get to face all these trials and sufferings. So what do you think? Would you rather be mortal or immortal? As for me, I would just accept how nature is and have finally conceived that I should face the reality of death as it is with nature.

Hi the! I would rather be mortal than immortal because I know the one who has taken birth in this world has to die one day. We should look at the flowers, they bloom for a day or two and then they gradually fade away. Life of a flower is short but sweet. We should live like flowers so others could 'smile' seeing us.

That was lovely dpk262006. What you said is something very wonderful to think of especially for someone like me so I won't have to be scared anymore. That is so true.

I agree as well. That's the reason why we're born -- to live. And to live is to live in reality and not in other worlds. We were meant to stay being mortal and not being immortal because if we do we wouldn't have been here.

I would rather be mortal if living forever is going to cause me to suffer more. On the other hand, if immortality means living in bliss forever, then I would choose to be immortal.

That is also a very good point. But since a lot of undesirable things had befallen mankind I guess paradise on earth would just be impossible, sadly.

I wouldn't wish to be immortal , if my whole family is not. What's the use of living if they are not around anymore to share my ups and downs. We have a time to live and we have a time to die. So while we live , we should live it to the fullest.

Yes true. And the later generations would find it difficult to understand if you should tell them you are their greatest grandparent. And they might eventually not believe you.

If the one I love is also immortal or will also be immortal, then maybe I will want to be one too. If it takes that to spend an endless lifetime with him and our children, then I think I will accept that. Even if I get tired, I will rather be immortal with him, and not suffer the pain of being apart.

I don't that you will ever feel tired when you always have love for each other to share for eternity. That is, I believe, one main reason why some are afraid to die--because we want to love more and needs to keep feeling it and we don't want it to stop. That is one sad thing there. Let us just hope that the after life offers a lot like these so our spirits will still enjoy what the after life has to offer.

hello! I choose to be immortal because of the short lifespan we had in this world I don't have the chance to see the beautiful spots on earth and on space. That is really my wish since i love adventure.

I would like to stay mortal because life is tiring and hard and we have to work hard for it to get the prize in the afterlife. Immortality is going to be VERY tiring and even it might become boring for many of us.

I think it will be quite lonely if I could have the immortality. It will be sad to see my loved ones pass by as time goes by. It is not natural and normal. And I can not enjoy it. I love China

Yes we may not really enjoy immortality. Because we might get really fed-up of our eternal existence and still suffer because we cannot die.

I think most people are afraid to die but I am more afraid of how than actually dying.I would only like to be immortal if I didnt get any older and the world didn't get any harder than it already is, to live in.
