I was sad when my friend told me that my monitor have no display. When I restart my Computer still no display. My friend also check the monitor and he said that the monitor was OK. I also check the system unit but its functioning well. What might be the problem? Can somebody help me with this?

The same thing happened to meIt has happened a few times in the past week, including this morning.I wish I could help both of us,but I have not figured it out yet either. All I can figure is that it's an old and over used computer.

Maybe i need to buy an external video card. The on board video card maybe is the problem.

First check your Power Supply unit using a Digital Multimeter. If all the voltage on the wires are correct then follow up with your Video card, if you have an onboard video, try to insert a video card, if you have a video card, use the onboard video output - I hope I'm making sense sense. If its not the video card, remove the Lan Card if you have one then switch the Memory Card from one slot to the other. If all else fails, your worst case scenario is a faulty motherboard. I hope you are using a Voltage requlator for your computer, a simple surge would damage your motherboard.

Seem like you have problem in power distribution. 1. Check your cable connection 2. Open your cpu, check every component, and clean it. If you already done that and still had this problem, it mean your power is already weak and you need to replace it. Note: You can also check my previous comment, that might help

Hi friend, If it is fully dark with no display then press menu button in your monitor and check the brightness and contract level. If it is showing any error on the screen like "no connection or signal" check your signal cable from your monitor, If the signal cable is damaged or twisted it can cause issue like this.
