I remember when Cable watching was very much new back in the 90s. every single day i would hurry myself to go home after watching a cartoon series, then when i got into college i would print some schedules every single month on the movie channel. Not sure though but before on movies and foreign news didn't have much commercials before. now, almost every single network or channels has commercials now. I guess they need money from business to keep the network running. But at least i get to watch news and movie still.

Hello sathyah I don't feel that kind of experience lately. as for the local channels, yes it does have some same actors which are acting on different series but still the same. i like the music, but it's the scenes that i don't like, they're probably be good in drama scenes. have a nice day.

Hello reject, i have those already but most of the time, the reruns aren't that good either. it's nice though that there are three movie channels, because one of them can air a good movie. but recent days, most movies coming out from teh three sucks. have a nice day

What cable do you have LK? There are times where there are no interesting shows on cable or dish TV, that's true. But there are also the good days where new shows are released and even old cartoon flips are being shown! I know since my hubby's a TV lover!nyahaha!

Hello beingwell, probably shows in the local networks are competing each other and competing for people views that they're providing programs that are almost the same with each others, there's little innovatin and become less entertaining. good to know have a nice day.

I stopped seeing channels crammed with commercials. I prefer CNN,BBC and Discovery channels with which I’m happy.

hello arle, even CNN, BBC, and discovery has commercials, but i admit they are a lot more educational than the usual entertainment shows. national geographic is also worth the watch

I just recently got cable hooked up almost 2 months ago. Never really found the need to get one before but a cable guy who installed for a neighbor in our apartment building offered me a great deal so i decided to get one. I worked for Dish Network before and customers are always complaining about reruns. Same is true with cable. Out of all those channels, I only watch about 4 or 5 channels and they show reruns everytime. You wouldn't believe how many times I was able to watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. And there are times, it suddenly loses signal.

Hello artistic, hahaha same here i also watch only three to five channels in a day. i have watch transformers the move 2 more than twice already. but other reruns aren't really that good or nice to watch to begin with. there are some signal problems too but am used to it. have a nice day

I feel that way too sometimes but i like having cable because i get to watch not movies but shows in Discovery Channel which me and my kids love to watch. It is educational and fun too.. we love watching Ghost Lab as well. Aside from Discovery, we also watch NatGeo, AXN - i love watching CSI series and Food network where we get to watch iron chef..and other cooking shows. So it is not yet boring for me.

I agree. You should cancel cable television. I buy books and the books are 100% more interspersing than the shows on television. I also learn something from reading.

Hello BlueGoblin, thank you for your insight but the problem is that i hate and probably not interested in reading. but i do read articles on the internet. how i wish i had gone to addicted reading back in my childhood days. have a nice day

I've had cable since the early 1960's, but Austin did have one of the earliest cable companies in the world I think... I mostly watch history or medical or crime shows these days, or local news mostly for the weather

AGREE!!! i can even believe that some cable channels has commercial also. i mean they do have commercial, mostly what their show is their commercial but some channels has really commercials such as products and things like the local channel has. unbelievable. there are days that i regret getting a cable then all i see is nothing. my wife watched a lot of cooking and singing and dancing so she enjoys the cable channels. but me... sometimes i really get bored specially if it is full of reruns...

dear LK, Precisely,it's like having an ordinary antenna but paying an extra not worth paying for. just buy a dvd and watch movies without any commercial have a good day sis, jaiho®

Hello jaiho-sis, actually i also hate buying dvd because i know i will get tired of watching it. for now, news are a bit more entertaining, since there's also Video city i can just rent them even though they don't have that much to watch for.

Hi Letran Knight: I can't agree more with you. I actually think that tv was a good source of entertainment but nothing compares now with the internet where you can get exactly what you want at anytime you want. Now I don't watch any tv program and actually if I like a tv series I can watch it online. ALVARO

hello. I think a certain thing becomes boring or exciting depending on how a person using it perceives it to be, new things are most of the time exciting whereas old things that we have gotten use to becomes boring because there are just newer or more exciting things to do, no different when we were kids and out grew our favorite toys that seem to be very exciting when our parents first bought them for us, exciting is habitual as well as subjective, an exciting thrill or ride could become boring if you already tried it and you go seek greater highs.

Hello Louie, probably we don't have that much channels in our cable as to why I am no longer watching it that much. sky cable seems to have more cable channel compare to our subscription. have a nice day

Hello mantis, I had cable back in 1998 and back then it was really different. one of my favorite channels there were animax and cartoon network, after HBO and cinemax. i don't watch music videos for some reason. as of now, am lucky to have those times, but now cable is not the same anymore. have a nice day

Hello LetranKnight25, I don't think it's cable that's boring it may be the movies or tv shows that you are watching that may be boring, I love cable because when a movie is out in theaters they show it a few months later on cable a decade ago it took years for a new movie to be on cable, but I agree on the commercials theres commercials every 5 minutes I hate that.

Hello judy, It wasn't boring when it was rarely new back in the 90s where i couldn't stay away from television every afternoon. well, this is one thing i missed is the benefits of it. i used to like cable that much and I agree that you don't have to watch in theaters which was too expensive now. local commercials in local networks have longer commercial run. have a nice day
