I mean really, i don't think i was ever so pissed at myself. I truly hate hospitals and doctors. I just cannot get use to either of them. We went to visit "grandpa". A friends dad is in hospital, as he had open heart surgery. She asked if i can go with. Mom told her it's not a good idea, but as we couldn't really know what will happen, i agreed, so she don't have to drive alone at night. Got there, he looked a bit pale, but not to bad and as we talked, i started to feel funky. When i woke up again i was on one of the beds. What the hell? I freaking fainted again. I was so embarrassed. I hate when that happens. When was the last time you fainted in a hospital?

Not all of us are good with this. I'm a first aider at work, and have only seen a few minor things. A broken tooth - drama queen worried about her looks if it could not be repaired. Medical programs make me queasy, but in real life I'm not worried. Took a chunk out of my hand using a circular saw one day. Bandaged myself up and turned in for my night shift. Mind you the at work nurse was desperate to investigate my wound. Perhaps in that way I am a typical man: but I did have it sorted.

I am not sure whether or not you are a "typical" man, Memnon, but you definitely sound like my ex-husband. He broke his finger at work, went to the hospital (only because they made him), and was back to work the next day, even though he had a note to be out of work for a couple of weeks. He figured that if he didn't give his work the note from the doctor, then he didn't have to take the time off.

Hospitals are like my second home. I don't like them, but I'm unnaturally comfortable in them. I've only ever fainted once, and that was at the zoo when I was seven. It was over 100 degrees and I guess I wasn't equipped to deal with it. I hope you are feeling better now.

Are you ok? I never faint and I never like doctors or hospitals. I haven't been in one since I lost my mom in 2005.

Why did you faint? Does it happen to you all the time? I don't remember fainting in a hospital. Unless of course you count passing out in preparation for surgery. That was a few years ago, for an appendectomy. I remember one of the nurses there asking me to count from 100 downwards. I don't think I even reached 95! When I came to, I was already in bed feeling numb all over.

I think you'd make a good patient! No anesthesia needed!

Hello Saphrina, I never fainted in a hospital but I fainted at work. It is more embarrassing, that's for sure! I donated blood that morning and after that I went to the office. The nurse had told me to eat something after leaving the hospital but when I arrived at the office, I started the work and forgot about food. So I fainted. The most embarrassing thing was I hit a safe before I hit the ground. They had to take me back to the hospital where the doctors gave me 4 stitches for my torn upper lip. Why do you think you fainted? Was the smell to blame? (I hate the smell from the hospitals)

Hi sweetie. I don't donate blood, ever. Needles freak me out. You should have eaten something though. I can see your co workers faces when you fainted. And that safe you have hit. I think it's the idea of me spending so much time there with all that damn test or it could have been the smell. They don't know and honestly, i don't care, as i am not going back there at all.

I hope you won't need to go back there at all. Not for a friend's grandpa, not for anybody. I just hope you will stay strong and healthy and you won't need to see those bad smelling corridors from the hospital. I can't tell you about my coworkers faces because when I woke up they had spraied me with water and my vision was unclear. I think most of them got scared because they didn't know what happened to me. They are good girls, my good old colleagues.

I have never fainted in hospital or at accident scenes. Did once feel rather faint during a lecture in an attic room of an old mansion that was rather hot and stuffy, got up and tried to go out but couldn't open the door (Old and decrepit handle in that mansion house) felt ok when I was in a cooler room and had a drink. all the best urban

I've never fainted in a hospital--not even when they were coming at me with needles (which I'm really, really, really not fond of; however, I have now found ways of working around my serious issues with needles). A hospital is just a place. Sure, it is a place filled with sick people--some of whom may have highly contagious diseases. However, you can easily get sick from going into your local box store or shopping mall. Eating at a chain restaurant could give you food poisoning (been there; done that). It's too bad that you fainted, but you're not the first person to faint from a fear of hospitals. However, this fear or phobia (given your reaction, I'm suspecting that it's the latter) is something that you need to confront and deal with, because there are times when one needs to go to the hospital--either because one is ill or because one needs to provide support to someone else. As much as I can't stand needles, I will still accompany my boyfriend in when he has blood drawn. I will be next to my fuzzies when they get their shots. Sure, I look away; however, I am there.

Hi sweetie. I'll try my best to overcome this, but one never know if it will work with me though. I was there to much and one never forget what one went thru. Maybe that is why i am scared of hospitals even if it's only a building. You sound brave though. Nice day.

This used to happen to me a lot if I visited anyone in hospital I think it was the smell of strong disinfectant or something but I would always feel ill. The last time was with my husband but many years ago when he first became ill. I had toget used to it though as he was in hospital frequently and I had to make sure that he was getting good care from the medical staff. I remember once during a long and painful labour wishing that I could just faint again Seriously, I hope that you have now recovered and that all is well.

Hi sweetie. I don't even really know why i fainted. Anyway, the bed next to grandpa was empty, that i remember. They have four patients in each room, with five beds though. You can be glad you didn't yet. I came by after about 10 minutes and seem just fine.

Hi saphrina oh dear. that is quite a messed up situation. Since my illness, I have been accustomed to the ambience of these hospitals, their stinking smells of Medications, and what not. I think you should have waited at the lobby of the hospital knowing that the smells are stronger and you have health issues... your friend would have understood and also, there would be a healthier Saphrina. Take care dear

Oh my saphy this is not good. I hope all is well and that it is only psychosomatic. I did faint once while I was a patient in the hospital. I am not prone to fainting at all but I was having a cat scan. The technician said do not move and slipped behind the glass to start the test. As I laid on the bed face down the darn dome fell off and landed on my head. The technician was not paying attention and I could not breath. I began to kick as hard as I could to get his attention. He was frustrated behind the glass and I was passed out as I could not breath. I freaked out because I was pin between the heavy dome and the bed that I blacked out. Since then you will not get me in a cat scan machine and or near one as I psyched myself to the point that it really freaks me out. Even pictures of the machine gives me chills. I hope Grandpa is getting better since his surgery and that you are much better as well since your fainting.

Hi sweetie. Sounds like a damn crappy technician, i mean really. And what would they have done if you really got hurt? Idiots. Anyway, as i understand it, grandpa had a good laugh about my fainting. See, at least i made him feel better.
