In search for friends

Have you thought of joining an animal rescue, its the closest you can get to giving an animal a second life, aside from volunteering your time at a shelter. My co worker is a huge animal advocate and is involved in a rescue. There was a stray dog we found behind my work that was once someones pet so I decided to join her and took the dog as a rescue dog and volunteered my home. They provided everything I needed for the animal I just had to give the house and love. If you check around or even on facebook you can find a lot of groups that support animal rights, and they can give you a little more info, such as the huge concern of high kill shelters they are having an issue with now. Issues can sometimes vary to. Im from canada and the province I live in there is a ban towards pit bulls. If Im not mistaken, pitbulls born after a certain date (after ban was enforced) are being put down, unless the families find homes in other provinces who can have them or if they cant tell its a pitbull (or whatever loopholes) I find facebook had the most info and different organizations though from what I saw.
