I have found that there are some people that name their children after themselves or relatives.Something, junior or the first name of a parent, sibling or grandparent. And other names such as using maiden names of themselves or their mothers as middle names. Sometimes people name their children after a character on one of their television shows or in a movie.Or maybe an actor/actress,musician,sports hero, president. And sometimes they select after someone close to them like a friend, youth coach or favorite teacher. I named my oldest child from a television character that was a childhood hero to me,Matthew from the show "Gunsmoke".My second son I named,Cameron, trying to find a different name, after an actor that I enjoyed the character that he portrayed in a childhood show that I watched. We named our daughter,Michaela from a character in my favorite show that I was watching when I was pregnant.Their middle names were from families mostly. Where did you get your kids names from?

My son Ryan Joseph got his middle name from his grandfather his grandfathers name is Joseph. My daughter Felicia Ann got her middle name from her grandmother. My stepson also kept the family thing going and named his son my grandson Maverick Ryan after my son Ryan his brother. I love that my kids have part of their grandparents name in their own name.

My husband picked Ryan out and his middle name. I picked Feliicia for my daughter I have liked that name. My stepson is keeping the tradition going now.

Wow, you really named your children after those actors and actresses of your favorite shows. Me, i got our child's name while i was waiting for my turn to be checked during one of my pre-natal check ups. I saw the name of an ointment for pimples, Diane and i like the sound. Plus it sounds like the first syllable of my name and the last syllable of my husband's name. I just doubled the N and because i gave birth on Christmas day , i added Joy to Dianne.

Hello dfollin. I name my first son after his father as a Jr. But it didn't stop there he named his son as the third. Now I wouldn't do that again. My son also named his daughter after me. Now I lived with him caring for the two kids while he was in the military. I was considered his dependent so was given medical care as a dependent. With all our names the same it led to a lot of confusion at the medical units.medical records were often confused. I named my oldest daughter after my grandmother because no one else did and she wanted a granddaughter named after her with black curly hair. She got the girl but a redhead with curly hair. The other two kids were named because I liked the names.

My husband chose the name of our son. He named our baby after his favorite basketball player. We have however changed the spelling. Also, I have chosen the name of my nephew. My brother and sister-in-law wanted the name to starts with either "R" or "J" since that the starts of their name too. We are watching LOTR that time, when I've seen one of the scene (the map being shown) the idea just hit me. We've named our nephew after the name of the land in the said movie. My brother and sister-in-law have changed the spelling also.

In my family my sister was named Donna because she was born on our dad's birthday. Our dad is Donald. My brother Mike is named after our great grandfather.Mike has 3 kids. Him and his wife named their first after her father,Gary. Second child was named after her brother,Dan. Third child was a girl. My sister's fisrt husband was named Randy. My sister-in-law liked the name so my neice was named Randi! My older brother has a daughter. Her name came out of a baby book,Ingrid. My sister had two boys. She named them after two of Lee Majors tv charecters! Austin from The Six dollar Man and Kolt from the Fall Guy! Austins youngest son is named Onon. That is his mother-in-laws maiden name. My nephew Kolt and his wife named their daughter after Kolt's grandmother (his grandma on his moms side). Her name is Liiian,Lillie for short. So that is my story!

Our names have a lot in common.First my cousin's name is Donna and my father was Donald. My name is Donna.Lee Majors was also one of my favorites.Lee is my daughter's 2nd middle name, which is a family name,my grandmother's maiden name and so my sister and some cousin's also have that middle name.My son,Matt's wife's grandmother was Lillian. When Matt and Sara had their daughter, they decided to change the spelling, her name is Lilyan.I asked if I could call her Lily when she was pregnant and they said yes. But,after she was born they changed their minds and only call her Lil.

I named my children after my father and my mother - their grandparents. That is an idea, but everyone has the freedom to choose :) Happy Mylotting :)

First I must confess I have no children nor will i ever have kids but... I do have an idea for the names I would name my boys, yes boys. When i thought about Having kids my wish was to have boys 4 of them so at least one would go into their father's business. The first would be David. David is Hebrew for Beloved. It is my favorite word. the second would be Jonathan. He was King David's best friend. And the third would be Matthew. I have always loved that name. and the last , the baby would be Benjamin, which is son in Hebrew I believe. So now I have the names but not the babies , but it is all good.

I found it hard to decide what to name my oldest son. My x-husband wanted a name like Fox, Raven or Rex. In the end we called him Ryan. I just wanted a normal name and then that name became way too popular for my liking. I now wish I had named him Roman. His main interest is History. I found it even more challenging to name my second son. He is disabled with spina bifida and hydrocephalus. I had the namd Teo suggested to me so I said how about the name Leo. So that is what he got named. I think that name suits him perfectly. I had many girl's names in mind when my daughter was born. I decided to name her Amber. I think it suits very very well indeed. Not long ago I met a family with three daughters and each had a name beginning with "A". If you have three Miss A think of them opening the post in the future. I think it is not sensible to name a baby the same name as his dad like John Junior and John Senior.

Naomi is a name I just liked. Cary came from Cary Grant, the actor. Dearra came from D for Dawn, R for Richard, with an a stuck on the end to make it sound feminine.

I don't have any children yet. However, my taste in names tends to run toward the classic, the elegant, the solid. Some names just make me cringe. The same is true of the "special" spellings that some people come up with for names that would otherwise be okay (or even quite nice).

My first son was named after an uncle who passed away at birth. I told my grandmother when i was younger that i would name my first son after hers. My second child was named after the twins on full house. This was my ex husbands idea lol and my 3rd child was named after his father.
