Do people care?

Today I read a quote that said:
"NEVER
tell you problems
to any one....
20% don't care
and
the other 80%
are glad you have them"
Do you agree with this quote, I think it does hold some truth to it!

I totally agree with this quote, though I would change something: 10% don't care, 10% will you use your problems against you and 80% are glad you have them. Yes, now it totally reflects what I've seen in my life.
If there's something I've learned in 21 years on this earth is that if you have a problem, no matter what, you have to get it sorted on your own. I know that it may sound a bit sad but it's true: i've never, NEVER, counted on anyone for help.
Anyway, getting back to the quote you posted, that 80% of people who are glad you have problems is practically everywhere; it's not because they're bad or evil, but simply because sometimes it makes us feel good to know that someone is doing worse than us...it's like if we could say "hey, look at this guy: i'm doing better!"
I guess we human people are curious beings :P

I totally disagree with that. I think that is one awful, pessimistic, cynical quote! Not to mention inaccurate.
I've seen people on websites say kind things to others even if they don't know them. People say things like "I'm here if you want to talk or if you want advice". Or if someone is sad, or upset about something, people are there to help them, cheer them up and are there to give them support.
I personally have sent messages to people online I've never spoken to before if they are sad or depressed. I try to give them hope and advice and I tell them I'm there for them if they want to talk.
Even if I don't know them, I still care. Granted, it's a different level of caring then if I knew them or if they were a loved one, but I still feel a twinge in my chest if I hear about someone having a problem, no matter how minor it is.

Whenever everyone else tells me their problems, I will always make sure that I do my very best to help them with whatever troubles they might be having at that particular time. I have a couple of friends who I know will always listen to me if I have something that I need to get off my chest, but I always know that the majority of them won't care about whatever it is that I'm telling them. It hurts sometimes as I'm always there for them, but at the end of the day I know that they don't mean any harm. It's hard to appreciate what other people have been through until you've been through it yourself.

This is someone's opinion; it doesn't hold any truth at all to it. You can't put a percentage on the number of people who care because how would you know that. It's just illogical. It's easy to think that a whole lot of people out there don't care. They probably do care but they just can't do anything about whatever it is. I get the feeling many people don't care but how would I really know that. The best thing is to find a person who has lots of empathy and tell that person your problems; they will most likely care. Most people are not glad someone has problems. If that's true I guess most people must be bad. I would hate to believe that.

I do not think it is true because nowdays nobody cares to nobody and if someone says he or she is sorry they lie. When they close their door they forgot about everything and think all about themselves.Shade,I I am beleiver in heart but I am so lonly in this world.Still hope tomorrow will be better.
Enjoy in life and beleive only yourself
